First one I typically fold without a read. Although it could be AQ or something you dominate, it is more often a small-medium pocket pair, and unfortunately because blinds are so low there isn't enough overlay to flip.

Second one I shove over pretty happily because of SB's cold call.

is it because there will be too many dead chips to flip?

Now teach every single person on these forums this exact thing.

Im opedipus bitch, the original balla.
Believe taipan is saying it is a shove on the second, due to the dead money in the middle because of SB's cold call. Not, but think that's what he means.

Anyways, yeah first I dump it. You could very well be ahead of such a donk's range, but I'm not willing to risk the entire SNG right here with an unmade had. Give me QQ+, and it's a snap call.

Second, hmmmm. Taipan has spoken, so I would go with him. Unfortunately, my thought was just to call for 120 more and re-evaluate on the flop. I'm not sure what range w can give to MP1 with his small reraise. I'm guessing it's something of a standard range here, JJ+, AQ+. And with SBs cold call, I would lean towards a small-mid pp (22-TT), and maybe AJ-AQ. However, that's standard and with reads could be wider of course. The right play might be to shove over, given the dead chips, and me being ahead some of the time, but my thought process would be to call, and try to get it in on any A or K flop. I realize that you are OOP, but if you don't hit you aren't too hurt yet. Can you please explain if this is totally wrong Taipan?

On the second hand, there are 840 dead chips in the pot when it gets back to you. If you shove it:

    a) it is very likely that SB gets out of the way unless he/she is trapping with a monster hand

    b) even if MP1 calls you 100% of the time you shove, you are risking 1330 chips to win 2170, so you're getting 1.63 to 1 pot odds so need to be 38% to win to make it a good call (40-41% if you add a few percent for the ICM tax). AKo is 40.4% to win against TT+, AK, so you're pretty much getting the right price to shove even if opp calls you every time and has TT+, AK every time.

    c) there is every chance that opp is min re-raising with a wider range than that (think medium pocket pairs, maybe even AQ/AJ/KQ type hands).

    d) there is a chance (maybe only a small one, but it still counts) that both of them fold to your shove.

    Hope that helps!
