    Default Made Hand River Bluff

Villain hasn’t been here long but I have him at 26/22/4 over a decent sample. We have no history.

Seat 2: Abehjerne ($338.80 in chips)
    Seat 3: 0fresh0 ($213.20 in chips)
Seat 4: eduargent ($265.05 in chips)
    Seat 5: Jin82 ($192.25 in chips)
Seat 6: loosegoos ($214 in chips)
    loosegoos: posts small blind $1
    HERO: posts big blind $2
    ----- HOLE CARDS -----
    dealt to HERO
    Abehjerne: folds
    0fresh0: folds
    eduargent: folds
    Jin82: folds
    loosegoos: raises to $6
    HERO: calls $4
    ----- FLOP -----
    loosegoos: bets $10
    HERO: calls $10
    ----- TURN -----
    loosegoos: bets $24
    HERO: calls $24
    ----- RIVER -----
    loosegoos: bets $55
HERO: raises to $223.60 and is all-in
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

This is bad. He can have both a boat, and sometimes but less likely a straight, and is rarely showing up with anything else.

I hate it, what holding are you repping by river that has an 8 in it??

plus i prob 3 bet preflop if he steals a decent amount
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.

If you have any reason to believe he can value-bet thin then this is good. A bet-calling range of 66, 99, TT, 76s, T8, J8s, Q8s-A8s (hearts or diamonds) is 2.3%, and a bet-folding range of T9, AT, JJ+ is already 3.4% which is enough to make this profitable, and that's not even taking his bluffs into account.

Of course, there's a good chance you might just flat call the river with an 8, for the same reasons that you bluffed here (you think he folds all worse), if he's good enough to realize that then this play sucks obviously.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.
