Default How badly did I play these?

Not a good night last night. Ground it out for a while, and then took a severe beating on two big hands, costing me more than 3 buy-ins. I got out straight away after the second one - major tilt was about to hit ...

I'd be grateful for feedback on my play here.

    HAND 1:

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG ($6.08)
    UTG+1 ($2.53)
    MP1 ($7.06)
    Hero ($10.10)
    MP3 ($13.10)
    CO ($11.96)
    Button ($7.73)
    SB ($9.79)
    BB ($25.57)

    Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J, A.
UTG calls $0.05, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, MP3 calls $0.25, 3 folds, BB calls $0.20, UTG calls $0.20.

    Flop: ($1.02) 8, K, Q (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks, MP3 bets $0.4, BB folds, UTG calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.40.

    Turn: ($2.22) J (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, MP3 checks.

    River: ($2.22) K (3 players)
UTG bets $2.05, Hero raises to $6, MP3 folds, UTG calls $3.38 (All-In).

    Final Pot: $13.08

So I've flopped the nut flush, and I'm thinking about all the loverly $$$ I'm going to extract from the stacks of my opponents. MP3 here was a super-aggressive player, so I decide to slowplay it thinking I can let him push the action along a bit without giving too much away, keep a few players in and hopefully I can get a whole stack of cash in the pot by the end. Worked out OK until UTG showed KQ.

Better to be the aggressor on the flop and turn here?

    HAND 2:

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (7 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Button ($5.71)
    SB ($3.07)
    BB ($3.42)
    UTG ($9.75)
    MP1 ($6.39)
    MP2 ($9.99)
    Hero ($12.15)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 6, 6.
    UTG raises to $0.2, MP1 calls $0.20, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.20, 3 folds.

    Flop: ($0.67) Q, 7, 6 (3 players)
UTG checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $0.25, UTG calls $0.25, MP1 folds.

    Turn: ($1.17) 8 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.9, UTG calls $0.90.

    River: ($2.97) 2 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $2.45, UTG raises to $8.4, Hero calls $5.95.

    Final Pot: $19.77

This is an obvious flush, right? Villain has chased his draw and made it (he showed AdKd), and I KNEW it, but its a $14 pot and I just can't lay down my set.

I think I played it OK on the earlier streets - he made the mistake by calling without sufficient odds on the turn - but I should not have called his raise on the river.

    1. what range do you put villains on? What equity do you have against their range, and what action should you choose based on their calling a raise range? Hint, we have the nuts, do they most likely have something they will call a raise with thinking they are pwning you when in reality they have little equity? Should we be building a pot so an all-in is much easier on future streets? Can we force them to make a lot of mistakes?

    2. We have the nuts again on the flop (not literally) vs. 2 other players. What kind of range can they have on the flop that calls? Does that range most likely call a bigger sized bet on the flop, which also gets the money in easier (killing two birds with one stone). As far as river goes, what kind of flush can he have? At this stake I call the all-in because I think people will slowplay AA and KK often enough.

You wont extract anything unless you actually bet and make it a decent size.

Hand 1: Your flop check is poor. You only have 1 player behind you and even an aggressive player isnt usually going to bluff into 3 other players (who may have only checked because they are checking to the raiser anyway). Expect this to check through far too often. There are plenty of pairs/ draws they could have on a flop like that. Bet $0.80 or so yourself and let them call.
The turn check is even worse given that MP3 made such a tiny bet last time. Do you want another $0.40 or do you want to start building a real pot? The river is a bit meh. Getting it allin is probably correct since he probably does it with any Kx or better.

Hand 2: Again youre betting less than half pot into 2 players on a drawy board. Forget for a second how dangerous that is when you intend to pay off after a draw completes. These guys will check/call down with draws. That means they will check down if you give them free cards and they will only call half pot if you only bet half pot. Charge them properly. On the river I make it $2 and I dont expect him to c/r with worse ever really. Id expect 2 pairs and sets to raise the turn so I think you can fold to the c/r.

Your biggest mistake on both of these hands is that you arent betting enough/ at all when you are ahead.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

Here is what I would do if i were in your shoes:
    1. I would play more aggresivelly starting from flop to protect my hand without any knowledge of the opponents. But you knew that the winner was an agressive player - the quastion is would he call your big bet with 2 pairs. If so, you wouldn't win it anyway, so you can say it was a bad luck.
    2. Wouldn't call it There could also be some strait, so i wouldn't even bet (simply check).
