Default $5 SNG - Line check and turn decision

Just doubled up first hand, then I get this. I'm guessing he has an Ace. So how do you like the flop bet and what's your move on the turn?

Preflop: Personally I just flat call rather than re-raising, with a view to only committing a lot of chips if the flop comes A or Q high. I don't think I'm re-raising here because I don't want to build a big pot when I'm OOP postflop.

Flop: This is the problem with re-raising preflop. Your flop c-bet wasn't big enough - I'd make it at least 300 to go into the 480 pot. As played, I think I let it go - we're just not sure how many of our potential outs are good and with the blinds still so low I think you can fold and find a better spot. If you had the Ah I would probably call however.

    A+

I didn't even spot the OOP pre - very poor. How you described the letting it go is perfect, e.g finding a better spot and what I'm doing a lot of now. Just wasn't sure here for some reason. I called.

On reflection, before posting, I leant towards fold but didn't think it was insta though, hence the post.

Folding the flop is really bad. Hand seems fine.

How many of our outs are likely to be good here, and how does that compare to the pot odds we're getting?

I honestly don't see what you expect to be ahead of in this situation.

It's not a question of being ahead on the flop, but having enough outs to justify making the call considering we're getting 2:1 pot odds on the flop. I think it's a close fold because I don't believe that all our outs (flush, gutshot straight, overcard) are clean.

EDIT: Hmm, maybe it is a close call, even considering the 2-3% ICM tax (and I haven't included the potential single heart flush draws).

yeah when I ran it I had like 58/42 because I put less made flushes and more draws in. I think we're being generous because most people are not playing the nuts like this. I think mostly he has Kx or a set and we have too many outs to fold getting 2/1. If for some reason you fold, betting the flop is horrible

    Interesting hand. Thanks guys.

    Glad I wasn't being a total donk.
