WSOP $1M Giveaway Hand Questions

Today I played in my first freeroll and did pretty well. I do have questions on 2 different hands. Anyway, I have absolutely no MTT experience at all and exclusively play STT and have had quite a bit of success there. Anyway, I busted 75 out of 1700 and they give top 50 seats to the weekly final. Here are the hands and my questions so any help or advice would be appreciated.

Edit: The converter isn't showing the antes. First hand antes are 300, second hand antes are 400.

My thoughts:

I'm not used to antes and I think my preflop raise was begging for a call. Not something I want with AK in this situation. I think I should have pushed pre-flop and increased my stack by 25% and I definitely should have pushed flop after being checked to twice. Just all around horrible I think.

Is this a really bad spot in the tournament to go broke with top pair? Not sure how I get away from this or if it is just standard.

massively shove 12 blinds with AK
no so sure about pushing into a UTG preflop limper with QJs
qj is just a nasty skank hand that needs to be shot in a big way.
id check bet and fold UTG will prolly have over pair/set here the limp just smells and i hate it when u get dealt shit like this in the bb with a limper. with any pair 88+ im pushing but qj is so easily dominiated.
what did the guy show u KJs? or some connectors?

The guy showed AJs and had me outkicked. I picked up a gutshot and a flush draw on the turn but missed on the river and out in 75th.
