Default $5.50, Playing the bubble in only the 2nd Level

I just finished a SnG where 5 people players were eliminated in a matter of minutes. There were four of us left and the blinds were only 25/50.

I was wondering what the right style of play is in this situation. I wouldn't think I should treat it like I normally would the bubble by stealing blinds and such because the blinds are still so low. Do I sit back and hope someone gets knocked out, or do I go on the aggressive anyway, even though the blinds are so small?

It was a really strange situation to be in and I was completely lost as to what approach I should be taking.

when that happens you have a little (the key word here is little) more room to make some moves, but with the blinds this small you don't want to go crazy as that will hurt your image later when you do need to steal.

In general I may open up my starting range slightly here (and play this like a 6 max tourney) but would still play pretty tight early and open up when the blinds get larger.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

A lot depends on stack sizes, position and reads. If you are the big stack and the other stacks are passive, I raise aggressively until they start pushing back. If you're raising into the big stack, be very careful because he/she can afford to re-raise back and you can't call without a big hand. If you're the third stack in the SB and the short stacked BB isn't yet desperately short, I raise ATC.

Otherwise, I agree with Gator - there's no need to go too crazy when the blinds really aren't worth stealing.
