Default My queens got screwed, opinions?

This got me eliminated from an STG and I was enraged.
The reason I limped with the QQ is because I was UTG and bets were flying around the table in the previous hands, so I was hoping to get a raise.

    Button mlloydy (2950)
    SB luka257 (2590)
    BB Thelions1 (3910)
    UTG dcmbrflwr (2260)
    UTG+1 Athonex (1320)
    CO MisterDiceman (1970)

Preflop: dcmbrflwr is UTG with Q Q
    dcmbrflwr calls 200, 3 folds, luka257 calls 100, Thelions1 checks.

    Flop (600) 9 T 7
    luka257 checks, Thelions1 checks, dcmbrflwr bets 400, luka257 calls 400, 1 fold.

    Turn (1400) 3
    luka257 checks, dcmbrflwr bets 1200, luka257 calls 1200.

    River (3800) 9
    luka257 bets 400, dcmbrflwr moves all-in for 460, luka257 calls 60

    luka257 shows 8 9
    dcmbrflwr shows Q Q

luka257 wins 4720 with Three of a kind, Nines

Obviously, the guy would have never seen the flop if I had raised, but I think this was quite harsh.

    What do you think?

Actually, depending on the level, a fair number of players are going to see a flop with that hand. Had you raised he probably would have just come over the top, which would have been better for you to call down. If he flat called that raise you'd have been stacked by those trips anyways.

So, yes, next time raise it up PF, but as the hand played you were getting stacked anyways.

Are you implying that the villian would have called a standard raise (600) with 89 in the SB (oop) here? I mean it has happened, but I don't really think you can say "a fair number of players are going to see a flop with that hand". Highly doubt it.

If you standard raise preflop here you probably take the pot and move on to the next hand. You made a bad play by not raising. You can't really base your reasoning for slowplaying on a hand or two (because it could have just been a heater for a few players). Also, while QQ is a premium hand it doesn't really warrant a check/raise preflop in my book. I would still raise AA here UTG as well.

Postflop, your probably busting anyways. He had an oesd and middle pair, so he was probably playing this. I think after we test him on the flop, we need to slow down a bit. And in this case I wouldn't have 2 barrelled on the turn.

However, this is the SNG forum, not the bad beats forum. Take it there next time. This happens, but you can blame your preflop blunder intead of a bad beat.

You must raise QQ here. I'm not sure what is best though, raising to 500-600 or just open shoving. What does everyone else think? I suppose it depends on what the table was playing like.

It's best to shove here I believe. I would just open shove from UTG with QQ and 11bb here. The only way I would standard raise in this situation is if the two smaller stacks had been getting antsy and shoving over standard raises.

I make it 600 preflop and shove any flop that doesnt have K or A. I really dislike limping here, even winning the 300 for blinds is not a bad outcome. If this table is loose and aggro its till not a great reason to limp QQ utg.

Thanks for all the replies. Next time I'll be more aggressive.
