It could be a squeeze play by Triptanes, if I was sbedvek I think I call unless he was trying to squeeze himself.

BTW with JTs I would probably limp behind rather than raising and I definitely get the hell out once sbedvek raises

The Gauntlet does strange things to you though. Like shoving a god horrible hand like Q5o after UTG standard raises.

As played it looks to me like sbevdek has the best of this, can't see many sane players flat calling AA/KK. Therefore he may be stealing this pot, I'd probably call with AQ+/99 plus if I'm sbevdek.

Plus if sbedvek has a decent hand worth raising; 160 into a pot already worth 210 seems odd.

I like to raise it pre sometimes, especially in agressive games like the guantlet, since it gives you more leverage to pick the pot after the flop.
I should have folded to the raise, my thought at that time was the triptanes was probably calling or folding and I have good implied odds to stack someone if I hit 2 pair or better

Edit: Misread HH. Trip's gotta have a monster range here.

I know nothing about sit and go's however I'm folding cause trip should be on a level where your at best flipping maybe.

Stacks are not deep enough for you to have correct implied odds, you hit 2 pair or better on the flop about 5% of the time so you need to be able to win at least 20x the amount you need to call. I am not sure how often you flop a monster draw but that is not necessarily "money in the bank". Plus you need to factor in reverse implied odds.

I knew this - he's sat to my right in both Gauntlet's I've played this year - and also felt it could be a squeeze. Even so, I was worried about TLR.

Reading this thread now and giving it more thought, I guess folding was a huge mistake and something I'll hopefully learn from.

    I had QQ.

your 3 bet is too small

Yeah, I know. I agonised for ages then folded and kicked myself almost straight afterwards. I think I felt it was a call but then folded.
