I think you played this fine. I'm itching to shove over preflop, however I just know that if I do, he very likely shows me QQ+ or AK.

Another preflop option would be to just call the donkminraise and play for set or overpair value, but against a bad player like this I think I prefer the 3-betting.

I play it the same way. You definitely are beat here so good fold. I also don't think I'm shoving over pre-flop with 7 players still in and against the other largest stack on the table.
