i just play a sng for the wsop and this guy would push all in after we got down to 4 people left. I thought at the beggining when everyone was folding to him that it was a good strategy. then people started calling him with marginal hands and doubleing up from him. then he took 3rd and i moved on to the next level and he didn't. what are your thoughts on this tactic.

Literally pushed all in every hand. sometimes folding if someone pushed into him.

A lot depends on the payout structure of the tourney, stack sizes, how big the blinds are, stack size distribution, reads on the other players etc. In a regular SNG, this can sometimes be a good strategy to build a monster stack and take 1st place, particularly if the table has gotten squeaky tight. Once they start calling wide, it's definitely time to tighten up, however.
