Default $5.50, AKs, missed flop, c-bet?

    Villain's stats are 38/4 over 47 hands.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Button (t900)
    Hero (t1880)
    BB (t1375)
    UTG (t2140)
    MP1 (t2700)
    MP2 (t3215)
    CO (t1290)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, K.
UTG calls t100, 4 folds, Hero raises to t350, 1 fold, UTG calls t250.

    Flop: (t800) 5, J, 9 (2 players)

    Hero: ???

Do I fire a c-bet here? And if so (let's say I bet out 300) and get called, c/f if I don't improve on the turn?

If he's retarded t500+ pre-flop, close your eyes, count to 3, then shove the flop.

Preflop is fine. If you're going to c-bet (which I would), then you need to c-bet a bit more. 500 seems good. There are quite a few turn cards that can help you (obviously any ace/king, tens and queens, any club).

Let's say I do bet 500, villian calls, and the turn comes a ten, but not a club. Is that an easy shove?

Tough spot. Although a) you're committed to the hand (850 of your 1850 stack is in the pot) and b) you just picked up another three outs the reason I hesitate about it is that opp is getting huge odds to call your shove (once you shove there will be ~2800 chips in the pot and it is ~1000 for him to call).

The other option would be to check and see what he does (with the intention of calling a small bet but folding to a big one).

Come to think of it, I think I like Fnord's line better of raising more preflop then shoving the flop so that we aren't faced with this decision.
