Default KQs on K high flop, short stack AI, opp shoves over ($27)

Opp's stats were 20/13 at this point, he was the archetypal TAGG push/fold turbo SNG player. He has a STR of 100 over 7200 games.

What the heck do I do when he shoves over my flop bet? Do I treat this like it's HU? If I call this and win I win the whole tourney, but would he take the (admittedly small) risk of potentially coming third if SB wins the main pot and I win the side pot without a monster hand?

Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t200/t400 (Ante: t25)
    3 players
    Converter

    Stack sizes:
    Button: t5875
    SB: t70
    Hero: t7555

    Pre-flop: (3 players) Hero is BB with Q K
Button calls t400 (pot was t520), Hero checks.

    Flop: 8 K T (t920, 3 players)
    Hero bets t600, Button raises all-in t5450, Hero ????

You have more chips than him and he's aware of SnG payout-schedule chicken. I call this.

I agree. You can call this and pwn him headsup when the ss busts out.

I call. If he truly had you beat I expect a smaller raise than ai.
Just dipping my toes back in.

Remember, opp is a very good regular with a STR of 100. What hands do we think he will a) limp preflop and b) shove over my flop lead? He is not shoving QJ here.

I could easily see Tx or 8x playing this way on this specific hand.

I call, he can do it with any Kx, and maybe Tx

It's a silly play by him anyhow.. It's true that if he had a real hand he wouldn't push but I think he shouldn't shove with TP either.. I'd probably get angry at his play and call then lose to KT..

idk why he isnt doing this with QJ, the sidepot is big enough to justify tripling the shortstack up to a massive 2/3 of a bb. I'd be insta-shoving QJ here alot of the time. BTW, i call, he almost never has something that has you beat.

Why no preflop raise here? I understand shorty is AI but his stack is so small its basically heads up.

yeah I also thought of that.. he wouldn't call you very wide so with a good raise you should get his limped chips and even SB wins you can dominate him more..
