Default QQ hand, 5.50 against a Regular

Is this standard? I lost a third of my stack and I hate it.

Seems standard to me. Sucks to lose a third of your stack but I can't see how you would play differently. I would need a very solid read that opp check/calls hands that beat us and shoves draws to call the flop shove.

    This is standard and easier.

    Checking flop is OK too.

It sucks to give a free card to A high but leading out you give the FD a chance to move you off the hand. Also, while Ax has three outs it also has three cards it can catch to maybe pay off a bet on the turn/river.

    Other points:

If he has an A high FD, he's never going to fold and he isn't making a mistake by calling the flop, so we may as well not worry about that hand.

If he just has a FD, he still isn't going to make a mistake by calling because even if he has a bad price for one card, once we bet the flop and get called we have to check the turn so he gets to see both cards (or gets to bluff us out on turn).

If he has something like JJ/TT checking is clearly the better play, which is why I lean to that. He'll almost always fold these on the flop but may call later. In a raised pot he would have Kx and draws and crap a lot more, but after he calls the re raise you have to look mostly at AX and big pairs.
