I played liiiiiive (lc)
Well today I was in a nearby city for some medical testy stuff, and they've got a poker room, so I figured... why not?
Well after messing up, not getting my name on the list early, and then waiting an hour to play, I sat down at the 1/2 game (I'm not rolled for the only other game there, 5/10). First hand I allllmost played was QTo in the HJ with 2 players already limped in but I decided against it... flop came QQT, someone bet pot and got a caller. Oh well w/e no big deal.
Next hand that I actually did play was in Omaha (the table switched from hold'em to omaha every 30 minutes) and I flopped QQxy on a Qc7d6d board. Much to my surprise and glee, one player bet, another went all-in, someone called, and then it was my turn. Arrrr in (and the original raiser called too). So here we are in a roughly $1k pot with my top set vs middle set vs bottom set vs AA vs baby flush draw... and the flush draw hit. Asdf that would have been nice.
So i rebought as a dirty shortstacker, doubled up, bought back in for the max, and proceeded to slowly work my way back up to about a $60 profit for the night.
Lessons learned: Live players suck complete utter ass. I'm told 5 of the 10 players there were regulars and the average # of players per flop was 5-6, I swear to God. They were all loose/passive except for one tagg guy who overvalued one pair hands and another guy who was obviously a tournament player and didn't know how to adjust. Oh and the odd drunk who sat in, dropped a couple hundred calling allin with T4s on a Q85 rainbow board, and then left.
Also I suck at Omaha. Tell me, If you're in a 6-way raised pot in omaha, the flop is A85 and the first to act player bets 0.6PSB, and you hold A5xy with no draws, what do you do?
