    Default leak management

    What's your biggest leak?

How much time should we spend plugging our leaks VS. improving our A-Game?

    Should the time be equal?

Improving your leaks IS improving your A-game.

An example of improving your non-A-game would be taking measures to limit tilt.

If you spend enough time on your leaks, then your game should improve naturally in all aspects. Think about it this way.

For the sake of simplicity, lets say there are only three aspects to poker. Position, preflop play, and putting opponents on ranges. I will use these since they are commonly considered important aspects for beginners.

Lets say I have a great understanding for position, and preflop play, but putting opponents on ranges is something I have trouble with. So, I spend a month focusing every ounce of my ability into putting my opponents on ranges. I become very good at it, and feel that my game has improved dramatically thanks to FTR's help. (plug) Now, since I am so good at opponent ranges, even though I'm not any worse at the other two aspects, they are now my leaks since they are the weaker parts of my game, and I am now probably playing at a higher level. So, positional and preflop play become my leaks and I work on them. I improve them to the point where opponent ranges is my weak point, and start working on that. This is how we slowly improve our game and not even realize how good we are getting.

I hope that made sense. I haven't posted in a long while.

    My biggest leaks include:

-calling big bets on the river with marginal hands.
    -cbetting loose players too much.
    -bad bluffs.
-not trusting my gut when my brain's undecided.

    Sometimes yes... sometimes no...

If your trying to plug your "take-all-the-money-you-won-from-poker-and-bet-it-at-the-blackjack table" leak... you're working on non A-game.

If your trying to plug your "playing-while-pissed-at-wife" leak... you're working on non A-game.

Plugging "playing on 2 hrs. sleep" leak is non A-game.

There are MANY examples of plugging non A-game leaks... IMO, there are actually more leaks players need to plug that AREN'T A-game.

    Improve those... A-game naturally improves!
