I hate AQ

    Default I hate AQ

This is exactly one of the reasons I hate AQ. I make it 3x bb PF. Get calls from the two big stacks ... who also happen to be donks.

Villain checks the flop, I bet 1/2 pot on river and the villain calls. We both check the turn and he pushes the river?

I know he could be playing ATC here. I check the pot size. I can match about 3000 chips, so I'm getting 3:1 (if I call with my last 1000 chips). Goods odds. If I've hit anything here I'm calling. Can I call this with A high?

Should I be CBing a donk who is quite likely to call? He demonstrated earlier he was willing to donk call C-Bets, and has either pushed the river or put in a steal bet on the river.

I tend not to c-bet into pots where:

    a) we are OOP;
    b) there are two players who have called the preflop raise; and
    c) the flop comes pretty drawy.

[Wow, I felt like I was writing a paragraph in a contract there!]

It's not AQ that you should hate. You got owned, even in position. Preflop I'm sure you had him but after your turn check he knows he can bet and you will fold. It doesn't matter what his cards are.

As taipan said, c-beting here is not a great move. You are up vs two players with big stacks, c-betting is a sustential part of your stack, if one of them have PP or FD with 2 overs he is not going anywhere. Check the flop and see what happens

I concur c-betting isn't great here. In this case I think I put in a CB since I had previously raised hands (with reasonable cards and position) and failed to CB them. Obviously this isn't a very good reason to CB.

That said after the CB I think I pretty much have to check the turn and hand over control.

As played preflop and flop I push turn, the pot is almost twice as big as your stack, and if he is drawing you may get him to fold

Yes, I think if you decide to c bet you need to commit to shoving most turns if he checks back to you. If your not comfortable doing that c/f flop.

I can't imagine being comfortable holding ace high and betting your stack into a known donk. Therefore c/f flop is best line.

Generally agree with ^^ but villain could have a lot of straight draws or flush draw so turn looks like relative blank, so I shove IF I had chose to c-bet most likely.

I think this the topic of this thread should be changed to ... "I can't play AQ"! I'm certainly not comfortable pushing this hand on the turn. So I thing this is probably a c/f for me.

Would it be any different if you had AK ?

No, I think AQ and AK are equivalent here.
