I 3bet this for value as well. I am happy getting this in preflop. I raise a large amount but I didn't want to push in case gator or kev woke up with something so if bjsaust was felting this pre I was calling. After that flop, regardless of any odds and him just calling preflop to my huge raise compared to his stack, I am never ahead.

I don't blame kmind here, Legacy had been aggro all game. My main thought at the time was that my chances just went up.

so bad by both players...** later ** apparantly mxiu didnt realise he'd done this every single time button/blind v blind, so didnt understand kminds call. Shows how important it is to realise your image to other players who arent seeing your cards. Kminds call is bad, but if we give mxiu a VERY wide range, which isnt a bad assumption from reads its not terrible I dont think. If someones going to do this every blind battle eventually you need to take a stand.

Majin is a maniac. I actually semi-bluff as I think he SHOULD fold often and if he does push I can call without being dominated. His range is so big that I doubt he has a K or 8 in it. As it turns out, it's a coinflip. I don't know what he was doing to be honest so I am awaiting his comments as to why he'd shove 22 when I am basically committed and the best he can be in is a coinflip. Nice hand though.

72 - I'm confident I can get kmind ai 100% of the time if I hit. He always thinks I'm bluffing. I'm almost exactly 10:1 implied odds if so, and I can take this off him postflop without hitting on some good boards. This isnt a good board to steal v's his range .

75 - limping now is just a terrible waste of chips unless you're tarping, and with your image tarping here would be bad.

Granted, I didn't know I was 100% steal BvB, and I have been fairly aggro (it really didn't seem that crazy to me because I wasn't raising with cock soup most of the time.. I think I picked up AA 3x?)

What you guys probably don't know is I'm not playing with any poker software. I don't have stats on anyone, including myself. I used to run tracker a few years back, but now I'm just grinding SNG's (Started @ the 5's with $100, now at $700 playing $10's over the past month). I'm looking to build a bit more before I invest in some serious software again.

The comments have been helpful thusfar, although there was something about calling Ax suited for 3xbb in CO terrible on the second level? I only have about 800-900 SnG's of experience online, and am mainly a cash player but decided to broaden my game a little bit. Is calling here a leak?

On a single table, software shouldnt matter. You've been playing aggro. The fact you had cards (sometimes) doesnt matter. You need to be aware of your own table image.

Yes, calling with Axs is almost always bad in an SNG, theres almost never implied odds in a shortstacked structure (which sng's are).

PPs < TT we're only playing for set value, and we only get those odds early in the game. SCs we rarely get odds, likewise with AXs. Perhaps times when theres multiple limpers in front of us and we're OTB or in the blinds we can justify limping with hands like that.

Remember, we start with 75BB effective starts and quickly go down from there. What works with 100BB+ stacks in cash just doesnt work in a shortstacked game. Then we add ICM tax in (the fact that the chips in our stack are worth more than the chips we can win), and until we can use fold equity we're really only interested in entering hands when we're likely to be ahead.

Great point, and the other point worth making is that cash games are effectively deeper stacked because you can reload, whilst once you're out of a SNG, that's it.

I agree, however when you are running hot you definitely need to cut down on the steal attempts because, unless you have shown down those hands, no one will know that you are just running hot and will peg you as a LAGGY.

4 means aggression factor. The formula is (bet % + raise %)/(call %)

Hmmm... can you give me a quick idea of a rock's numbers/tag's numbers/lag/maniac's AF's in that formula? I believe I remember someone saying 2 was pretty high

2 is around 'standard' aggression imo. Above that you're not only c-betting a lot, but double barrelling, donk-betting, c/r'ing, etc a fair bit also. 4 tends to mean (imo) betting with any part of the board, whilst something like 10 is just a maniac. 1 or less is a rock who only bets/raises with the nuts.

Guys covered it well, and I keep harking on this but its just so important, especially as you move up in stakes, you need to be aware of how your play looks to the rest of the table. If I get AK, AQ, TT three buttons in a row, then its a mistake to get TJs the next time around and think 'I havnt stolen blinds all game', because whilst I know I had the goods, to everyone else it looks like I'm stealing blinds with ATC already.

Likewise of course, if you actually have been stealing a bit, then getting a solid hand you can pretend to be stealing again and get paid .

Also, dont forget mxiu, that you deliberately shoved the first hand of the tournament to give yourself a maniac image, so if thats your plan, you need to aware that people will play v's you as if you're a maniac. Its like you're changing your plans from hand to hand almost.
