Default AK and AJs vs DONK, $6.50

AK 2nd hand - I know the villain is a donk, he just dumped 1/3 of his chips into a pot with mid-pair. The flush flop looks good to bet on (I've put in 2/3 pot), if he calls we have up to 15 outs as long as he hasn't hit the flush or an unlikely straight (or 2 pair). The turn card looks great to me giving me top pair top kicker. This time I've bet 2/3 for value, knowing he is likely to call with any part of the board. The river makes a flush for us, which could only be beat with our opponent holding a straight flush or the Ac.

So how was my betting? Could it have been played better? I think I have too much equity here to push on the turn. After all I don't want to chase my opponent out of the pot here, do I?

    Hand 2

AJs - Same opponent with an even shorter stack. Here I have AJs. I just standard raise preflop and the villain calls OOP. The flop doesn't help us much, but it doesn't look very scary either. I accept the villain could be trapping here with a pair of queens, but should I be pushing here with a check from from our loose opp? After all the chips in the middle represent 1/2 my stack and if we get called we can still hit the A or a backdoor flush (potentially the J if our opponent does not have a Q).

Hand 1 - sometimes I check/call on the turn rather than leading. The issue is that this is a way ahead/way behind situation but you have no idea which it is, so try to keep the pot smaller. As played I would probably c/c the river rather than leading, but once you lead you have to call the push.

Hand 2 - seems fine to me.

This is a good time for you to stop posting results.

I think checking turn hand 1 is bad - yes it's WA/WB but he'll call with a bunch of WB hands. He isn't putting us on a K.

River is tough, I think I would lead but less than you put in

I would also check-call the river because you can get value out of worse hands that way..

    why?

because you want him to call with two pair/set or a really low club, here we're basically hoping he has exactly the Qc or maybe Jc. That's especially true since we have to pay off either way, you may as well get the most out of hands you beat. I don't think you're going to catch many bluffs here and if he's going to bet a worse flush he'll certainly call with it.

Just to explain my end bet size the villain only had 550 chips left. Anything less than a bet of 550 and the villain is pushing over us anyways. Normally I'd make it a bit smaller (say 400 for value).

Hmm, on reflection I think you're right, he will call with a bunch of hands that we beat such as lower clubs and maybe even overpairs to the flop without a club.
