 Advice for switching to Turbos?
I wanted to ask for some advice on switching from regular SnG's to turbo SnG's especially from those who started with regulars like myself. A little background - I primarily started with regular because I used to be a cash game player so I consider my post flop game stronger than my preflop. However, towards the end of a SNG it's push/fold and so far I've done pretty well there. Basically I just want a higher hourly rate so I'm looking to switch and I've read that all SnG people that play seriously for money eventually switch to turbos. I've read about all the pros and cons so I'm looking for specific advice that people have learned through experience to help shorten my learning curve.
Here are some of my questions:
Is it basically just pure math/ICM? ( is turbo more botlike than regulars? =p )
I assume you have to be much better with pushing and calling ranges since it gets to that stage 2x as quick?
What exploitive tactics do you use in turbos that you seldom would make in regular SnG's? ( assumption is more moves are made in turbos due to seeing less hands )
Should I study SnG Wiz until my eyes bleed or until most of my preflop decisions are automatic?
Anything that could help me make this transition more smoothly would be welcome. I currently play the $11 regulars and intend to start with the $6.50 turbos and move up after X amount of games considering I am rolled for it. Also, assuming all goes well should I skip the 16's?
The more I think about it I should have just titled this thread help me become a bot lol.
