Default This is standard with AK right?

This hand seems pretty standard but for some reason I am still posting it I guess its more about reraising vs. reshoving, than this specific hand.

$7.70 mtt, 9 handed on Bodog

Hero is dealt AKo in the BB and has 6.5k@125/250 blinds, no antes. Villain is taggy and is the SB with 12k. It folds to villain who makes it 770 (this is the 1st time he has had the chance to open from the SB). Folding is clearly not an option, and calling seems pretty bad as well. I guess my question is how much to reraise and why? Are there any general rules about reshoving vs reraising?

    Actions in white:
I made it 2770, villain shoves, I call, he has TT yawwwwn.

It's all about stacksizes. Here are some options:

    1) You can reraise to 2000-2500 but that leaves you with 4kish and leaves the appearance that you can still fold, which then allows him to stop'n'go you and you are in an awkward position on a blank flop.

    2) You can just ship it - you pick up over 10% of your stack if he folds which is fine, and you are likely at worst a race if he calls (you might even be dominating him).

    3) You can call and play postflop - you can either ship over a c-bet on the flop, or you can c-bet or check behind on the flop depending on your opp and the flop texture.

I like options 2 and 3 the best - I think it depends more on playing style than anything else. I think the "standard" play here is just to ship it pre.

I like the call option. You have the best drawing hand possible. Hide the strength of your hand, defend your blind, hit the flop, double up.

I just ship and watch him turbo call with AJ. If you had a better read I could get on board with calling. I don't play anything lower than a $10 I guess but whenever I'm in a 'micro' I made myself quit trying to outplay people, especially with a hand.

This is very true, and I think sometimes I try to get too cute when I should just make more straightforward plays.

I did not even think about this, yikes. I like option 2 the best now for sure. Thanks for the explanations.
