It's all about stacksizes. Here are some options:
1) You can reraise to 2000-2500 but that leaves you with 4kish and leaves the appearance that you can still fold, which then allows him to stop'n'go you and you are in an awkward position on a blank flop.
2) You can just ship it - you pick up over 10% of your stack if he folds which is fine, and you are likely at worst a race if he calls (you might even be dominating him).
3) You can call and play postflop - you can either ship over a c-bet on the flop, or you can c-bet or check behind on the flop depending on your opp and the flop texture.
I like options 2 and 3 the best - I think it depends more on playing style than anything else. I think the "standard" play here is just to ship it pre.
