Yeah, I figured I should have done more earlier. The way he had played though I put him on A-small card (as he had played an A-4 earlier the same way) and I was praying for the flush to hit. when the J hit I was almost as happy as I figured I was good. Then his shove over looked like a weak steal attempt. I snap called the shove. Villian flipped over 9h-5h. WTF??? I wasn't sure if I should have spotted that but it caught me by total surprise.
I don't play these 20 person games much and I think I see 8000 chips in front of me and and my maths get screwed up. Seems like a big amount but with BB at 800 it isn't any different then being in a single table S&G with BB at 100 and I have 1000 chips in front of me. In that position I would have shoved flop for sure.
Oh well, I'll pay closer attention next time.
