Default Hitting set on turn with possible straight?

    Hi guys,

i'm still eager to get better at MTTs.

Can anyone give me some good advice. i keep getting into spots where I get stacked running good hands into better hands.
    How do I avoid this.
this is a hand that just felted me. What could I have done differently?
Reads: Villian had been playing fairly aggressively.

Should I have just maybe called the turn bet instead of shoving there.
My (incorrect) read was that the villian was slow playing AJ or was holding AQ.
If I call the turn, what then on the river?

I seem to go out to these type of hands a lot and I need to find a way of fixing this leak.
    Any help would be great!

im not a good player myself so my oppinion might be completely off (and in an actual game, i think i would have done the same thing) but considering the preflop bets i would put them both on a decent PP or facecards. And seeing the T hit on the turn, one of them go allin, and the second call it in front of you, the chance of at least one of them having aither a higher set or a straight seems pretty likely.

In short, the turnaction in front of you should tell you that your set is beaten at that point.

Im struggling myself not to overvalue my cards, and not to underestimate my opponents. Usuly, tho, i manage to make the correct laydowns when facing 2 or more opponents as the ammount of cards scare me off.

But facing only one opponent, im sure to get felted in a situation like this, i just "cant imagine him actually having those two cards".

    Thanks Soulless.

I think that is what is stopping me from progressing to the next level of playing.
I'm defiinitely not good at MTTs.
This type of bad judgement from myself is what gets me into trouble.

On the flop, my thinking was "well, someone could have an AQ type hand and so there is no point betting when I'm behind and I shoudl just take the free card"
On the turn, I just saw the set and went crazy.

I should learn to avoid these unnecessary hands.

I also think a big mistake was playing the hand at all.

Was the PF raise from the villian too big to call with TT in that spot? Should I have reraised (folding to an all in reshove) or just folded in general.

I definitely played that hand VERY poorly from start to finish.

    I am determined to improve!!

i think preflop was okay, u had a good stack and TT is not a hand to waste.

But with thos cards on the board, and one allin+one call before you on the turn sure makes a straight or higher set very likely.

But as i said, im struggling myself so take my advice for what it is; a noobs thoughts

re raising pre flop is another option but I think this is OK, you cannot fold on the turn as played, it's just a cooler.
