Default Maybe I've just been running too hot...

Villain is running very nittaggy (16/14/4).

I haven't gotten out of line (or gotten caught) at any of our tables - he s on probably 4 of mine.

I haven't been 3-betting him much so I don't really like doing it with KQ to begin with.

Table "Urbana" Seat 6 is the button.
Seat 1: Spirillen ($495 in chips)
Seat 2: HERO ($539 in chips)
    Seat 3: Blaster55 ($678.45 in chips)
    Seat 5: Niilex2 ($1083 in chips)
Seat 6: Belabacsi ($496.55 in chips)
    Spirillen: posts small blind $2
    HERO: posts big blind $5
    ----- HOLE CARDS -----
    dealt to HERO
    Blaster55: folds
    Niilex2: folds
    Belabacsi: raises to $17
    Spirillen: folds
    HERO: calls $12
    ----- FLOP -----
    HERO: checks
    Belabacsi: bets $25
    HERO: calls $25
    ----- TURN -----
    HERO: checks
    Belabacsi: checks
    ----- RIVER -----
    HERO: bets $56
    Belabacsi: raises to $152
HERO: raises to $497 and is all-in

edit : villain tanked for a looooong time before raising riv
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

ure on a sick heater, people do river straights or sets sometimes
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

isnt his range here like 44,56, and bluffs. with like 0% bluffs considering he pot control checked back the turn. nobody is folding 444 or 56 here. the tank raise makes me think he has 44. i dont think he really cares what you have, he just knows hes not folding. pretty sure you can find a better spot to bluff than 3-betting king nit on the river w/ a nutty range.

I think in these kind of spots where villain checks through turn, they are more often than not giving up or looking for a cheap showdown.

I think if they are suddenly raising you on the river, its cause they've probably woken up with something.

If they wanted to take the pot down otherwise, they prob woulda bluff barreled you or something.

Quite often he either took some time to convince himself to value raise a non-nut hand or is giving you hollywood. I don't think this is weakness if he lets his timer run a bunch then does anything but call. If he waited for like 10 seconds or so it's more likely to be weakness.

Woudn't it be funny if he wasn't lying about folding 56?

I still vote for air... Can't lie though, his chat had me pretty convinced.

Also, he berated me for being a huge nit for the rest of the session. Who the fk knows.

As a follow up question, I was talking to someone about this hand yesterday and they said they preferred a non-shove 3-bet if I decided to do it.

I disagreed, thinking that the % of times I get him to make a huge fold is muuuuuch higher with a shove than with a "value" raise...

    Thoughts?

Nice move for a shove!! I think you had him beat anyways. My guess...he probably had Q-10 of spades.

I am all for floating oop but i don't like doing it here. Just lead flop or c/f.

hmmm if i don't 3 bet this preflop then I'm def not folding flop when I have overs + lots of fun turn cards (A, T, K, Q... even 9 if I'm feeling frisky and want to play my range, not my hand) and when he's very often gonna barrel turns that hit me
