Default AQo on bubble against fellow big stack ($27)

Opp's HUD stats at this point were like 19/12. How is this line? I don't want to re-raise to create a monster pot considering stack sizes, but folding seems too weak considering opp's likely range.

On the flop, don't think I have much choice but to fold to the flop lead. Thoughts?

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t4960
    Hero: t3795
    SB: t1610
    BB: t3135

    Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is Button with A Q
UTG raises to t450, Hero calls t450 (pot was t675), 2 folds.

    Flop: 2 3 2 (t1125, 2 players)
    UTG bets t450, Hero folds.

    I play the same..

shoving pre is not bad too IMO.. It's the bubble so he'll fold some hands that you're flipping or have a small lead.. but the existence of the short stack makes it risky equity wise I suppose..

I play this exactly the same as well. That short stack bones your equity. (Plus I effin' hate AQ lol)

Being on the button makes preflop call ok. (though it does create an interesting situation should SB or BB shove over)

If I were in the SB I would prob actually fold this because I would be going against the only player who could bust me and have no idea where I would be after the flop should I hit, is this too nitty?

3 handed = easy shove IMO.

What to do with AK here though?? This might be wrong but I think I'm inclined to a shove preflop unless you have an excellent read that UTG calls really light in that spot. You have decent FE against a more solid player, so I guess a lot of it has to do with what you think his calling range would be...

I'd shove over preflop if I knew that opp knew that he needs to fold everything but QQ+ if I shove over. The problem is that without a solid read you can't give an unknown this credit. Shoving and getting called by 77 (let alone AK) is a total disaster in this spot.

yup, exactly. Folding preflop is wrong, shoving preflop is wrong unless you have a solid read, therefore calling is right. On that flop I dump to his flop bet, you might have the best hand but its basically going to cost your entire stack to find out.

    Well played hand IMO
It's not how many pots you win, it's what's in them that counts.

I would play it differently, I would not shove preflop but I would reraise it to about 1000, for a few reasons
    1. Flat calling gives the blinds, especially the BB great pot odds to call
    2. Reraising gets you the initiative on the hand
    3. You may be able to pick it up preflop
    4. If villian (or the BB) pushes over you can fold and still have about 20 BB

Uh, so what do we do if villain calls and we miss the flop?

Depends on flop and villian action, since we have position

Same flop, villain bets, your move? What if he checks?

If he bets I fold, if he checks I bet 1/2 pot
