in ur accounts... confiscating ur funz
I play KQ all day in a cash game, but in tournaments it's not really interesting at this stage - it doesn't play well in a multi-way pot, it doesn't play well against a sane calling range. It's a good hand to steal with because it still has some potential. It's not a good hand to play if you're not considerably deep stacked.
But I might be missing some value here.
I would simply fold PF in this spot... honestly. Might be bad also... wait until someone comes along who knows what he's talking about.
If you were going to shove the turn, I would have bet 450 on the flop, this way the turn shove looks less scary.
Or spread out the bets over all 3 streets - which might be better. If you make 3 smaller bets as opposed to two big ones, you are more likely to get called down with garbage, and this is not a very scary flop.
I wouldn't be too paranoid about the club on the turn.

The short answer i.m.o. is; "It depends".
You pretty much seemed to have pot committed yourself after the flop with about half of your stack invested into the pot allready, so going all in for the rest of it was kind of unavoidable by the turn i.m.o.
Unless of course pothead1 is a Solid player, in which case you are likely beat.

I don't like your situation here with just having top pair. Just about anything can beat you i.m.o. Two pair, a set, or even a possible flush draw on the turn.
What type of player is pothead1? Is he tight aggressive? Loose aggressive? A rock? A calling station?
All these things must be put into serious consideration i.m.o.

i wasn't really worried about the j on the turn, i figured if iwere beat i was beat before the turn because it was hard to put him on a straight draw etc, the only thing is maybe KJ, this might be a leak but i have a tough time folding KQs preflop when i'm the first one in the pot unless maybe im utg, maybe limping would be ok but i figured if i limp i'll have to fold to a raise because im oop. i thought a raise might give me a cheap look at the flop, this all sounds like it could be a big leak so any advice would be great, also as played (raising preflop) could i of played this different other than a bit bigger post flop bet maybe 3/4 pot

What 'type' of player is pothead1? is he an 'unkown'? Or have you had enough time against him to figure out his style?

lets say no real read on the player. i have a tough time not open betting tpgk. with my chip stack and him not reraising had a hard time putting him on a set, two pair, etc. to a reraise i could maybe find a fold, but to a flat call the turn looks like i'm commited... opinions???

Probably slow, doesn't have much short-term memory, easily makes misclicks due to doritoes-greased mouse.

Well you are right about looking like you are committed on the turn. I guess you pretty much have to push and pray at this point and re-buy if necessary.
But my main concern is this, "Why don't you have a real read on pothead1?"

still pretty early i guess he hasn't played to many pots, so could lable him farly tight, havn't seen any of his whole cards, he has reraised one guy out of a pot after the flop, but sinse its early he might not of had many hands preflop, seems decent but average at these stakes. also looking at general strategy in this spot, i know it depends on lots of factors, but need some info for similar situations.

I think you played this fine. If I'm UTG or UTG+1 I'd open fold. Here theres only 5 players behind and its sooted so you cant fold. Flop is good and with only 900 left in a 1300 chip pot, you have to shove that turn. Nh

With a deeper stack I think I'd check the turn and hope for a cheap showdown...the jack isnt really a great card because most Kx's are beating you now and the flop was pretty dry so there arent a lot of other hands that call your flop cbet
