Default kudos to party support - busting micro cheats.

I play the occasional micro sng as a break from cash.
Can't believe the dodgy goings on!
I am impressed with how party dealt with the situation.

I wasn't too fussed about the $$, but I hate when players cheat against me. It was seeming as though they were colluding, but the hand that made it TOO obvious was three-handed, blinds 400-800 and the shortstack in the bigblind all committed with 450 in. I fold T7o UTG, and the small blind - who seemed a solid player, and had about 7k in chips - folded his small blind rather than call 50 into a 900 chip pot...

    the first e-mail:

As per the procedure, we have placed a temporary hold on the account and sent emails to the players in question asking them for a clarification
    on their game play.

Once we receive an explanation, the management will then proceed to takea final decision on their account and the funds available in their
    account.

However, as per our investigation, we found the players to be involved
in team play and for the same reason you finished third in the tournament ID 41863657 and got credited with $10 only. As we believe in promoting a fair gaming environment, we consider you to be finishing
first in the same tournament. For the reason mentioned above, we have
credited the remaining $15 to your account.

We once again like to thank you for your extending your cooperation in
maintaining the integrity of the site which is of our prime concern.

just curious how much does collusion help in sng's i'm sure i've caught people doing it a couple of times but never reported it because i thought it would be hard to prove. just the other daytwo guys checked it down and the one guy had the nut flush and the other guy had tptk. no bets weird.
    is it a big advantage

if you know what you're doing, then it can be a solid advantage. Looks like these guys have no idea though:

Colliding can increase your ROI ofcourse, but I am not sure how useful it is in a single table Sng, since you pay 2 buy ins, you are gaining an advantage but playing for the same prize pool. It would make more sense to do it in 2 table Sng

Just avoiding each other with big hands would be an advantage enough.

I sometimes play online with a couple buddies and we are on MSN. I will never tell them what I have if they are in the same hand as me and they sometimes apologize when they steal my BB and didn't notice. I tell them that's fine, just play your game...don't be sorry for stealing my blind.

I could see though how people could be doing though and not being as ethical as I am. Would be pretty hard to prove as well unless they do dumb moves such as in this post. Obviously not the smartest fish in the sea

I don't have an account at Party, but I played a SnG on Bodog a few months back where I came 4th. I didn't notice anything dodgy going on, but a few days later I received an e-mail from their support. It said two players in that particular SnG had been under investigation for collusion. The two players had now been kicked off the site and had their accounts closed down. I had been promoted from 4th to 3rd, and the money had been credited to my account.

    Very nice!

I think that the one hand is pretty inconclusive to collusion... When I'm the big stack, I will fold to or try to keep the small stack that is almost out in the game so I can keep the pressure on the medium stack who is just waiting for him to bust.

I've been impressed with how Stars handles cheats in the sit'ngos. I too was reimbursed in a game where I bubbled out, but should have finished 3rd.
About a week ago I was in one where these two were so blatant. If one had a serious chip stack and there other was getting a bit low, they'd both limp on every pot until they got a situation where they were headsup. Then the big stack would raise, the low guy would reraise allin and the big guy would fold, bringing their stacks to level. By doing so, they remained the two bigstacks throughout the game, til once itm I started shoving and was able to take them down one by one.
Best part was the two losers were actually from the same town and didn't even think to conceal that in their names (you could always put something stupid like poeple do -- Neverland or Everywhere or something).
Anyways, Stars has been very professional about it.
