    Default How To Play This

670 man event. 1st prize is entry to major tourney. 9 runner ups get a satellite ticket. 95 left. Been playing tight and the table knows this. I had just won previous hand with pockets queens vs AJ pre flop. Sat in 12th place with 21,500. Average is 10200. Blinds 400/800.

In BB with KK. UTG is only player at table who has me covered with 31,300 and he calls 800. One more caller in MP.

I raise to 3500. UTG calls. Flop comes 8h Ac 6c. UTG goes all in. I put UTG on JJ/QQ or flush/straight draw. Can't see a big ace or trips pushing in this spot. Win and I go big chip leader.

Should I call? Should I have pushed all in pf?

had the same problem a moment ago,i personally think this is hardest decision you can make.imo,i think we should be leaning on folding, but everything is always read dependent, but should a player do this?

First level thinkers bet when they hit - they aren't tricky enough to think about checkraising and they get paid off by players who think they are on a higher level.

Just fold here, complain about your KK always being an Ace magnet on the flop, and move on.

And no you shouldn't have pushed pre - you wanted action pre, you got it.

    Thx Char.

One more question. The guy was calling off just slightly more than 10% of his stack - at the edge of his set hunting limit. So should I be betting 4,500 - 5000 here to price him out or was the initial raise of 3+1 okay?

Played fine IMO, you dont wanna be putting in too much pre flop as u dont want to scare away worse hands. Raising to 3.5k and folding isnt doing too much damage to you stack.

This could well be a set from the line he took and is hoping his all in bet will look like a bluff to you and you call with Ax or a hand like you have.
