1st hand: I play it the same

2nd hand: I wouldn't reraise pierpier33 on the flop bc you still have one left to act...Just call and see the turn...If brothabrew calls, or pierpier bets again I just c/f. You dont wanna play a big pot with a 2nd best hand during low blinds.

The first hand I do the same , although I raise 4x but no biggie

    2nd hand...I don't like the reraise. Just simply fold it...as played..easy fold

Agree with this - I would also have made it 120 for the second.

    1st hand

Early, when the blinds are small are 15/30, you need to raise to 120 - 150 from EP with big pairs.

For some reason a raise to 90 doesn't even seem to register as a raise for some people. Apparently there is some psychological barrier when the bet amount becomes three digits.

Raise it to 120 and hope one of the blinds comes along for the ride.

    2nd hand

As you can see, a raise to 105 thinned the field better. I don't think that flat calling on the flop is a good idea. I'm probably just folding 70% of the time here. A small raise will definitely tell you where you are though.

I can't imagine there are alot of turn cards I want to see. The best one I can think of (other than a Q) would be the 10 of spades. But that could easily give our opponent two pair (if he doesn't have it already), and he would likely price us out of our draw on the river.

You need to win this pot right here, or give it up. This early, I say just give it up.

on hand 2 i just figured from my read he would bet any pair their maybe even ace high i thought a raise would let me know pretty quick where i'm at, thats why i didn't want to call because i still have no clue where i'm at and have to c/f, i agree its early fold this and wait for a batter spot thanks

    x2,
H2- calling the flop is the same thing as rasing. If you play for the turn, you can still see how strong villain is while saving your 450 chips. I would even opt to just lay it down and wait till later rounds. IMO you dont really need to know where you are at, AT THIS POINT.

If opp just calls your raise, do you have any better idea where you're at than if you call? Plus, by raising, you build such a big pot that it becomes harder to play and (obv) lose a lot more chips if you're either beat or have to give it up on a later street.

For this reason, fold > call >>>> raise

That's a great point taipan. "pot control"

    h1 obv fine

h2 I would call to see what he's doing at the turn.. If he has a shite hand our call would also scare him with this board and slow him down.. If he doesn't he'll probably fire again and I'll fold..
