Default Wherein our hero does something possibly donkalicious

Do you like this? SB is bad, loose, and passive; BB is unknown; UTG is pretty unknown but has raised 4 of his 11 hands at the table for what it's worth (not that much). He thought for about 5 seconds before calling the raise from BB.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    SB ($19)
    BB ($6.45)
    UTG ($59.60)
    MP ($96.60)
    Hero (CO) ($51.55)
    Button ($52.75)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9, 9
UTG raises to $1.75, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.75, 1 fold, SB calls $1.50, BB raises to $6.45 (All-In), UTG calls $4.70, Hero raises to $23...

It's fine, but sometimes he's trapping with a big pair and you'll get owned.

I do the same, except I shove.

I thought about that. I don't think it makes a huge difference, I'm pot committed if the full stack shoves and my raise is enough that I have the other two players covered. In terms of projecting strength I think it nets out to about the same, depending what level he's thinking on - and since I don't know that I don't have a strong preference for either raise size.

there's really no difference between this and shove. it's normally a pretty good play, but certainly thin especially when UTG can hand read and get it in with AQ and not be dumb enough to fold TT.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

    Cool.

Results - SB and UTG folded, BB had AJo. The nines held, although I got skeered real good when the flop was all spades (he had the A).
