Default Play along with me v.A

The only reads that I'm aware of are that villain hasn't gotten out of line that... that I know of. I have no stats so you'll have to play the guessing game with me like I usually do.

I'm going to ask what to do and if the answer is bet, then how much?

if the flop didnt contain a ton of gutterballs I could be inclined to knock it back and try to get 1-2 streets on the turn and/or river.

Shove, I am not ecstatic but you are ahead of his range for this.
  16. #16
yeah id still definitely shove, plenty of worse 2 pairs in his range.

So you bet less than half the pot on the flop and now you're concerned that the stack-to-pot ratio is too high to shove here? As played, call I guess.

    yes

Whoa I'm sorry I did not see the stack sizes. I think I call here. Not sure about river yet
  22. #22
    I fold, but I'm a sissy.

The only read you have on your opponent is that he's not been playing out of line, yet he's up one buy in at this table. This makes me give him credit for having a hand, probably a set of 9's or 10's.
  23. #23
yeah same, didnt notice the stack sizes at all, i call and reevaluate river, though tbh im not folding much unless the river is a very bad scare card and villain is still very keen on his hand.

    River: ($254) Q (2 players)
    Hero checks

You definitely should have posted this check as a decision point. Turning your hand into a bluff by open-shoving a queen or king river might be a good idea, it beats the hell out of check-call.

The Q doesn't really kill your hand if you think you were ahead on this turn. I doubt the opponent raises AQ/AK on this turn regardless and if he had KQ then you were smoked on the turn anyway.

This river though makes me want to fold because this looks like a value bet and I think he's no longer betting AT/A9 here. Mcat's line of shoving this Q >>> check/call because of his value betting range on this river.

Limped/Called PF = smells like small pocket pair

smooth call flop from a player that doesn't get out of line, possible monster

turn gives flush draw and he raises

    value bet the river

he's got a set or played it to look like a set or backed into a straight but thats unlikely since he's a decent player. I think I have to call here since I'm getting 3:1 and I'm not using PT3

    this hand is gross

I def think this is either c/f or shove, I don't like c/c at all here.

yeah i forgot to do that

good advice in this thread btw

i think b/c on the turn is pretty bad. Fold there is not a big mistake given the possibilities of straights and sets IMO. As played, i fold to his river value bet and hate my life.
  32. #32
id c/f river, we just beat a bluff, he's checking back most of his range which has SD value
