Default I want to make friends!

Long time lurker, just thought I would finally register and post! Basically I decided to register because I don't have any friends that play poker, lol. Weird huh? Everything I've learned about playing was from FTR and various books. I would like to be able to chat with some players and discuss anything poker.

I am currently playing 50NL, so I guess I would like to chat with people in the same boat. I have posted my stats from my 50NL experience. I've grinded from 10NL to 50NL with a starting bankroll of $300.

So basically, if anyone would like to chat on AIM about poker, that would be awesome lol.

Any basic assessments you can make about my stats? Too loose? Too nitty? Just OK?

Wow your VPIP is very low. Same with your preflop raise. To increase these, immediately widen your attempt to steal range to like 30%. You can go into pokerstove and kind of get an idea for what this range would look like. You should get your preflop raise % closer to your VPIP. The last like 30k hands I have at 50nl I am running around 25/20 (vpip/pfr). I'm not really good at other stats.

Hi, you are a nit, at your current level there are still plenty of players that will pay you off because they are playing way too wide a range against you.

As you move up players will adjust and you'll have to re-adjust by loosening up. At 50nl 6max a much higher winrate is easily achievable, however, you will have to be involved in more pots to do so. First, try opening up on the button, calls raises from EP players with hands you might normally fold here (56s, 8Ts, etc) and also open more hands in this position when it is folded to you.

Ease yourself into playing a wider range by first doing so in position. The next spot you will loosen up is your CO range, the last spots you want to loosen up will be your blind ranges, and frankly, you probably don't even need to do that ever.

Good luck, welcome to the FTRizzles, keep working on your game and you'll be killing it in no time.

In an attempt to open up my game, I'm going to incorporate these things.
I just need to know if I'm headed in the right direction.

    1. Never open limp
    2. Raise with a wider range in all positions
    3. Call pf raises in postion with a wider range
    4. 3bet in position more

1, 3, 4 I like but when we say raising a wider range, definitely start out in the cutoff and button first because you'll get to play IP postflop which is where you'll win the most of your money.

Also when we say call PF raises in position wider, I basically only do this with pocket pairs I don't want to 3bet with and like suited connectors like 54s+ that you don't wish to 3bet. If you do elect to 3bet more (and when you say 3bet more, I assume adding more bluffs to our range as opposed to value hands), make sure you know how to play in 3bet pots postflop. You can test all of this out.

Change your approach from "risking the least" to "winning the most".

    #1 is good

#2 Listen to the dancing bear and start slowly by opening your LP ranges. You´ll be facing a lot more difficult postflop decisions that become even more difficult when you´re oop. Dont open your ranges from EP and the blinds too much.

#3 Dont overdo the sc- and one-gapper-dance, you´ll have to check-fold a lot of boards and will get into marginal 2nd pr type situations.

#4 Know, why you are 3betting in position. Dont ever do it because someone mentioned "3betting light is the new cool thing to do"

And of course welcome to FTR yo, good to have u here
