Default adjusting from nit to station..

    tourney: DoN Turbos..

i am wanting to pick some brains as to the adjustments, theoretically, that need to be made when you play a tourney with nits (daytimes) and more loose/passive players (night times).

i am feeling like i am too aggressive at night. during the day, picking on the nits seems to work very well to maintain my stack in the mid stages of the tourneys. but, at night, i may be getting after it a bit early?

how far do we drop our felting requirements? TPGK?

just curious as to how many of you are adjusting from day to night, as i notice more 40+ vpip's on at night BY FAR.

Are we talking US time here or "real" (GMT) time ?

I generally only play between the hours of 10am to 12pm GMT, so I can't really comment other than the fact the play definitely loosens up later in the day. Mornings tend to be filled with European regs and the odd drunk US player. Perhaps I am missing out on the fish

i'm sure i am just bitching, but it seems when the loosies are 4 to a table, i cant get the nits stacked up to pick on. therefore, i need something a little more substantial to steal a blind.

i also cant cbet a flop as often, so i need to connect to continue. i know its weak/tight, but in these things stack preservation is more important than chip accumulation. but, players seem to fold a lot, and that encourages you to pick on them with flop bets. however, when they call your flop bet, and you release your hand ui on the turn, you just dumped 400 chips and now sit at about 1k. not good when you cant pick blinds to get those chips back.....because they call.

do we stop being aggressive until the blinds force others to get active? i have noticed that being more patient, the looser the table, seems to pay off. but, you handcuff yourself if you wait an orbit or two too long to get active.

obv, this is my biggest pickle atm.

I feel your pain. The daytime nit play to nightime Debauchery is a little strange. The difference is massive in the Dons. I have seen some unreal plays on Friday/Saturday nights(US Time) that accounted for some of the worst bad beats imaginable but these nights have also been my most profitable Don nights. I haven't changed my play though to adjust for the drunkards. It sucks coming down to 6 and having only 500 chips because you were never given a chance to play from the button but nevertheless the good cards always end up showing up and then you have JohnnyRocketFace from Tennesee calling the allin with A4 suited.

ghem, you seem to be one of the more active DoN players here.

i assume you just stay a bit more patient? thats been the only thing i've seen to do that makes any sense. but, the variance crushes me at night.

they SHOULD be more profitable because there is a definite influx of completely dead money. but, they arent for me. maybe i just need a bigger sample at night to let the numbers play out?
