Default 100 NL: AA against TAG

Last one from today's session. Villain is one of those I really don't like playing against. He clocks in at 18/11/4, which is roundabout my stats, but I tend to give way to this guy way too much, and feel he sees me as weak, stealing way too much of me. His call reraise range is definitely all pocket pairs and suited connectors.

    $0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem
    5 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG ($101.50)
    CO ($239.09)
    BTN ($219.73)
    SB ($156.08)
    Hero (BB) ($152.20)

    Pre-flop: ($1.50, 5 players) Hero is BB
1 fold, CO raises to $4, 2 folds, Hero raises to $15, CO calls $11

    Flop: ($30.50, 2 players)
Hero bets $23, CO calls $23

    Turn: ($76.50, 2 players)
    Hero ($114.2)?

My AA instinct of course tells me I'm ahead, but having already cleaned out two other guys today with sets against their AA's I'm horribly aware of what crap opp might have, which lingers heavily in my mind. Play safe or crank it up?

Well I cleaned out two opponents today who flopped sets vrs my AA by spiking a river ace. I think the knowledge that suck outs happen should assist you in this hand.

Your mind set sucks. I kinda wanna check/shove or c/call c/call. I dunno what I'd do if he checks behind.

My thoughts exactly! If villain sees you as weak a c/r or c/c it's even better.

if we were 100bb deep i would bet, shove. at 150 you should probably c/c turn, c/f river or b/f turn, c/f river
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

I would bet bet bet against calling stations and check/shove or C/C against tricky agro opponents.

The way I get too chicken and worry is exactly why I wonder about these hands. I worry very much these days after losing too much. Anyway, the turn came:

    Turn: ($76.50, 2 players)
    Hero checks, CO checks

    Which still leaves me wondering.

bet/fold $45ish dollars on a safe river. villain has 77-qq/ hearts most of the time, value bet accordingly.

It ended up here, so that's about what ATO said.

    River: ($76.50, 2 players)
Hero bets $38.25, CO calls $38.25

    Final Pot: $153
    CO shows:
    Hero shows:

    Hero wins $150 ( won +$73.75 )
    CO lost -$76.25

So this safe play is preferable? One of the things I was wondering about was whether the board was too risky to try to cash in a little bit more on the turn. As I played the hand I was trying to minimize the damage of a possible bust, but that may be a bit too much on the safe side?

Why are you scared of the turn, it's a great card for you. He never has a 6 and its just going to make him want to call you down lighter/play back at you. I think you should have had his stack here. I would expect JJ+ to stack off and wouldn't be surprised to see worse than that. His stats are on the stationy side anyway plus when all the draws miss and the board is double paired your value range is pretty thin.

I wouldn't 3 bet this big pre even oop if you have any air in your 3 bet range.

Actually, I change my stance on the hand a little bit. I think making a bigger bet with the intention of bet folding is good here, like $60,
even on a heart river, as I believe his range to be tighter than I first anticipated, specially if hes the sort of guy who only ever 4 bets aa etc and only peels in 3 bet pots with the top of that range. Seems as if his probable holding is leaning more towards jj-kk which will likely anticpate your big river bet on such a seemingly scary board as a bluff, specially as you wouldnt reraise 9x etc. A guy thinking on this first level will look you up alot in this situation.
"This sure beats Super Mario Bros.!" is my ejaculation catch phrase.
