Default 2nd shortie on bubble with AQ

SB only has 2BB left and will probably bind away before me and button calls very light, but I should still shove here right?

Yes. I do. But it's an interesting one.

Problem is by the time SB blinds away, you'll be too low.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

Well no matter what happens I'm not likely to win this one, just want to get into the money. The thing is, if I fold and the other shorty somehow manages to double up then our positions are reversed. So I think I have to take my chances with this premium hand.

Exactly, you are too short yourself to let AQ pass

Shove it, AQ is too good a hand to fold here even with SB so short.

That is very wrong. If button calls lightly, you're highly likely to double up here. You will then have a stack of 2500, well over 10BB, and button and BB will both be in the 5000s. SB will bust out, and you will be in the money with a good shot at improving.

If he is calling you with any ace, any pair, and any two broadways, you are better than 60%. Nearly 75% of the time he doesn't have one of those and he's either folding or you have even better odds if called. To add to that, SB has to call here with like top 40%, and you are better than 62% against that range.

In my opinion, a hand like KQs is much closer here on whether to shove or not than AQ is. With KQs, you are just under 50% against that same range for button, with a 75% chance that he folds or calls and you're better than 50%. You are 56% against SB's top 40% range. This one would be really close.

    Nice response.

I agree with the consensus so far - push AQ is the right play here. Too much hand to fold and if you double up you'll have enough stack to give yourself a shot to move up.

UTG only makes this slightly more nerve-wracking but I would never open-fold AQ here.
