    One thing that concerns me here is with so many people involved, it's likely a lot of them are playing Axs, Kxs, so I may be drawing thin. However, SB is much more likely to have A9o than a pair or a monster, so I think I get it in here with so many dead chips in the pot.
    Playing big pots at small stakes.

    SB most likely has small pair, I've seen pairs take this line lots of times. I always gamble here. he also sometimes has worse A's, and rarely if ever KK AA.

    I shove it in and expect to lose to 66 or AQ

    If it's a small pair just make sure the board goes JJQQx.

    This is a fold. You don't need to gambol. The other thing to think about is just smooth call like the rest of the donks with AKo instead of raising. Why juice the pot when oop? You know that these donkies are all going to call you or put you in a situation like this. Don't forget, it's about lasting as long as you can. You don't need to gambol to do that.

    The reason I 3-bet is that I wanted to clear out some of the limpers so I would have had a better chance of c-betting a missed flop.

    As played, I'm getting 1.78 to 1 pot odds on the call with all those dead chips in the pot, so I need to be like 36% to win on chip EV and say 38% on $EV (I'm assuming that the player still to act folds for simplicity's sake):

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 40.392% 27.16% 13.23% 184165620 89723532.00 { AKo }
    Hand 1: 59.608% 46.38% 13.23% 314459700 89723532.00 { TT+, AKs, AKo }

    First hand on a friday night you have to get it in with AK here.

    You can't say you're likely to draw thin. People limp alsorts and not just Ax. A limp here increases the liklihood of certain hands. Pairs, scs and other things. You want Ax, Kx to call as you dominate them.

    First hand on friday night you're miles ahead of SBs range. Felt it
    This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

    With all the dead chips in the pot I think this is a call, it is most likely small-mid pair

    If you are going to raise for these reasons, you have to be willing to call an all-in preflop as well.

    If you aren't willing to go broke preflop, then just smooth call the raise and hope to hit a big flop.

    raise/folding preflop after all those limpers is not a good plan...

    I hate flatting with AK here because it give all those suited connector and small pair the odds they're looking for.

    If it was just MP2 in the hand and everybody else folded, I would have just flatted, but with all those [edit: calltards] in the hand I agree with baudib, I can't give all those donks implied odds to see the flop with whatever they have.

    Blinds are 10/20. They min raised to 40 and they all called. Nobody limped. It's early and you know that at these levels you are not going to thin the field. I would just smooth call with my connector and not go crazy when I hit TP.

    Wat, you consider AKo to be no better than a connector here? Plus, you would have thought that a good solid raise would clear out at least three of the calltards.

    this is why I play tournies instead of sngs, so I can snap-call here and never feel bad about it.
