My very first $16 turbos

Default My very first $16 turbos

These are my very first $16 turbos. I thought it was high-time I levelled up, as my bankroll can support it and feel ready to move on from the $6.50's.

My first thoughts are there are less muppets. Fewer people knock themselves out early on, hand quality is generally better and folks appear to have a better grasp of ICM.

I've a little nervous about levelling up and I'd appreciate if someone could look at these. They aren't very long as I was a little card dead and ended up being the first out on table 1 and bubbling on the second table.

    Ok, First tournament:

    AJo UTG+1 (M = 32.67; f+F)

    I raise this

    Hand 1, I like a 2/3 pot turn bet.

    AJo UTG (M = 18.80; F)

I raise this, much more often. M low enough for you to start getting aggro, and you can't just fold everything

KTs in BB. I like a raise pf here. It's a nice hand to do it because if you are called you don't have junk.

Hand 3 turns OESD. Man you are playing so weak tight. You need to bet sometime, and this may be a good spot for a 400 chip bet. Certainly the guy in position bets most of the time here to this weakness so it feels like your giving him the pot.

The rest is fine. Just seems real weak and tight like you're afraid to bet because you moved up.

    I'll look at 2nd in a sec

    2nd tourn:

    54s CO (M = 49.00; f+f+f+f+f+F)
    Nothing wrong with opening here

    9 9 MP1 (M = 19.47; p+f+F)
How much was the push for?

    Hand 7:

Wow is that really a +EV shove? I instafold it but maybe that's too tight

I wanted to bet here but I figured a would reraise would pot-commit (we only have 600 behind)? It feels weak to check-fold and realised after the hand I probably played it incorrectly.

382 chips. I thought about a reraise AI, but there are a lot of opps still to play. Calling seems weak too.

This isn't a move I like to make, but I'm getting a little desperate. I've pushed the last few orbits into the BB, so 27o isn't enough to push on the previous hand. Pushing when the other small stack is in the BB seemed like the next best option. I reasoned middle stack probably isn't going to get involved w/o a big hand and the other small stack would call quite tightly. IMO his call with J9 sooted is a little loose.

The move is 0 EV if both opps call 17%. If you widen the BB's calling range to his actual calling range, it's -EV. From his perspective he should only call here if he thinks we are pushing wider than 50% of hands.

...which you are, so it's a good call by BB.

382 chips so my play is to reraise AI I think. Might be marginal
