Default KQ flops middle pair on scary looking flop ($6.50)

Am I correct in thinking this is a simple call on the flop? I figured if a T or K comes on the turn we are probably ahead. We also have some bluffing outs if a spade comes and even if we end up stacking off with opp, we won't be drawing dead.

As played, I'm not sure if folding the turn is the best play as we may have the best hand and can still improve.

On that flop I wouldn't even bother calling the flop bet, there's way way way too much that beats you and because of the flush draw the T is not even likely to be a good out.

Folding the turn is irrational because you called the flop when your odds were worse. If you thought you were ahead there, you still are.

There's so many things I'd like to do in position, but OOP i fold this on the flop. KQ is like the worst hand we have here calling.

I called he turn because of the implied odds of hitting our hand (and potential bluffing outs), not because I thought I had the best hand. There are obviously some reverse implied odds when we hit the Ts or a K, but I think that risk is acceptable.

The turn card obviously also takes away any bluffing outs as it's not a spade and the probably the only way we are winning the hand is if we improve by spiking a T or K, which we only hit about 15% of the time. So this is the reason for the turn fold.

I think you don't hit anything on turn enough to make this a flop fold

"Implied odds" can be used to justify all sorts of horrible calls. Don't forget that this board is bloody scary for everybody else too, if the turn comes K, Q or T they will very likely not stack off with Ax and you may only get action from hands that crush you.

I agree with taipan and gingerwizard. I'd just fold to the flop bet.

Naka I would call that flop bet in the heat of the moment, too, but I'm a tard. Thinking about it objectively, you're not getting any implied odds because a T,Q,K coming off is not likely to get you a big pot. At best you can semi-bluff a spade turn. The pot is too small right here and unless you have a good read he is bluffing at this with a straight draw or flush draw, folding flop is best.
