Pokerstars is hosting an event to try and break a world record of most people in a tournament. There will be a 35,000 person maximum. So there will be a $150k overlay.

I am going to playing in this event and was wondering if any of the bigger MTT players would mind giving me a few pointers. I don't need a coach I don't think, but I would like a few tips for bubble play and after you get into the money.

I have NO PROBLEM getting to the bubble (and often times PAST the bubble) but I wouldn't mind getting a little help for this one since I've never played in a MTT this big before (buy in or people).

So if there is anyone out there who would just like to give me a few pointers on here, or wants to get a hold of me through AIM or MSN you are more than welcome to.

Ok... if no one wants to give me a little bit of advice, how bout directing me towards a couple of books that will. What are some REALLY good books for tournament poker. I am currently looking over all the HOH books. Any others that would be a good read?

Honestly the best stuff I've ever read as far as helping my game was the long thread soupie wrote - digest section maybe?

As far as the field size, wow, can anyone say crapshoot? How many hours you figure to break the bubble?

This tournament pisses me off b/c first is getting 6% of the prizepool, which is just ridiculously low.

Kill Everyone is a good book. My advice would be to just play standard poker and don't bluff or slowplay since this tourney will be full of donkeys.

Don't play any $10 tourneys with a $33 roll, let alone one with 350,000 people.

If that isn't really your roll or you want to take the money out of your pocket or whatever, just keep it simple. Make TPTK, get paid.

No I'm not playing with my $33 roll lol. I'm going to try to get into it by one of the sunday 200k satellites. If that doesn't work after a couple tries than I WILL just pay for out of pocket. I'll just deposit $11. This just isn't an even I think I want to pass up lol. I mean how many times is pokerstars gonna try to break a record like this?

last Sunday Hundred Grand hit the 25,000 cap so I think they can break it whenever they want. You can notice a hitch in the software for sure when it starts, I think that may be why they have the cap to begin with. but the 150k over lay is cool.

However im speaking in generalities lol. Even so, if you think about it in terms of percentages 25% of the people get there money back. Thats a decent payout compared to some tourneys on Pokerstars, but you're right wading through 26,250 is not going to be an easy task. I'm still not 100% that I'm going to do this, but it's a possibility. Seems like it would be a decent challenge (the 30k first prize doesn't seem to bad either lol )
