Could I have done this any different? Neither villian was really standing out for any reason. Both running 25ish/15

Shit I forgot that when I made this call I immediately told myself I wanted to post this pre-flop just to see if I was starting to grasp the +EV aspect. Am I correct that because of the stack size of the raiser this is a good call?

your bet sizing on all streets is absolutely horrible. Yes you did end up getting it all in and if you lost to AA, A4, A7 or A3 then it is just a cooler, but in the future your bets on the flop and turn need to be much bigger. I would have bet .70 to .75 on the flop then thrown out anouther 3/4 to PSB on the turn.

I can understand betting small on the flop if you're trying to make it look like a very weak donk bet allowing you to c/c or c/r on the following streets, but it doesn't make sense for you to then open the betting incredibly small on the turn. Either make a decent sized bet on the turn or check raise a decent amount....

That said it does sound like you ran into a cooler. I've been trying to think of some way I would get away from the hand when the board pairs, but there's just no way I'm walking away from it. Unlucky.

If he's holding AA or Ax and flopped two pair, there's nothing you can do about it. Your pre-flop call is good for set mining, given opponents stack. After that, you need to be raising HARD. Min 2/3 pot the flop, AI on the turn.

Any non A or better is folding this flop anyway if you bet. When you hit a set your not getting paid unless he has TP or better. Bet like he has TP or better, these small bets give odds to chase dreams. And dreams don't pay off on the river.

call pre is good, but please dont bet 1/8 of the pot without a read that villain will raise you all in or something.

One thing to think about is how they would have responded if you bet differently. For instance, if your flop bet was bigger, and your turn bet was bigger, then when utg raised we can go allin on the turn with what is likely the best hand.

Great feedback. Yeah I thought I was being all sneaky with the post flop bet. Makes total since to just hit it big cuz nuttin' gonna call unless they have something big anyhow.

Ask yourself this. By betting the flop, do we allow someone with like almost no equity or very little to put a lot of money in the pot? If no and we check, do we allow someone with like almost no equity or very little to bet? If we check and someone has a range that we completely dominate, is it reasonable to win a large pot/stack by the end of the hand?

I say no/yes/yes and check/call the flop. Slowplaying a dry flop like this can be fun. I'd rather play vs. a dominated wide range as opposed to a tight range that we still might dominate but causes much more folds.

Think of ways to allow air/weakish hands to put more money in the pot.

this isn't a good calll preflop in EVERY situation. If against a bully or maniac type of player this is a bad call because the bullies will often not have a hand enough time for you to stack them should you get a set.

However against any other playertype. Yes this is a good call.
