    Default Blowing Bubbles!

This was a fun table. Pretty loose. Bubble play was considerable tighter. With only 6 or so BB left is this a push? I have a friendly image and was TAG the entire game.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $10+$1 Tournament, 200/400 Blinds 25 Ante (4 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB (t3550)
    Hero (UTG) (t2545)
    Button (t3190)
    SB (t4215)

    Hero's M: 3.64

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8, A
    Hero raises to t2520 (All-In), 1 fold, SB calls t2320, 1 fold

    Flop: (t5540) 2, 2, 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Turn: (t5540) 10 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t5540) 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Total pot: t5540
It's not how many pots you win, it's what's in them that counts.

Looking at the hand straight up, I thought push. Looking closer, I see all three calling fairly tight (top 10-15% of hands). A8o doesn't stand up against these ranges. If we fold, we're still ok. 400 off our stack isn't yet game over with other stacks as they are. I'd want something like 88+, ATs, KTs+, QJs, AJo+ to push in this spot.

I don't think this is a hugely -EV push but I still think folding is the best play.

    Leak of mine this.

I would have shoved but running it through SNGPT says it's a fold for all but uber tight calling ranges.

I'm afraid I just can't give anyone credit for only calling 88+,AQs+,AKo without a gazillian hands on them. 55+,A7+,KJ+ is enough to make this -EV

My push range here is 77+,A9s+,ATo+

    KQs is worse than A8

Does it make any difference that hero is UTG here? I mean would this be a more standard shove from the button and an auto-shove from the SB?

It makes a BIG BIG BIG difference - for the reason that there is one more player who needs to fold before your steal the blinds or who might call with a better hand (or even one you're 60/40 against which is also bad).

Good points all around. Position in everything. Should have waited on this one. Ended up SB had JJ.

Yeah, this looks like a shove at first but there is no way all 3 villains are calling as tight as the required 5%-10% of hands here. Even then its a real close one to make. I think if I were playing this I would have shoved but then checked out the hand later and been angry that I was wrong.
