we really did not deserve to win but I want everyone to realize how good we'd be if Matt Schaub was healthy all year. That last drive was something Sage wouldn't have done.

Denver Broncos magic number is 1!!! I sure hope Hillis is alright though. T-Bell isn't nearly the power-runner we need.

Dangerous Dangerous team for the Playoffs.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

Bob -- Do you want the Lions to go 0-16? I mean, I know you want to see them win every game.....but do you want the high draft pick, the chance for more changes to get made, and/or the title of being the only 0-16 team?

Reason I ask is I hope the Chiefs keep losing. Having a high draft pick, if we don't fuck it up (which we do quite often), would be great. Also going 2-14, or even 3-13, may shake things up (FIRE KING KARL, our stupid-head GM). I just hope Herm Edwards gets to stick around as I like the guy and think he has the team, which there isn't much of, heading in the right direction......with better players he'd be the man.

  20. #20
They can draft Sam Bradford/Stafford/etc.. if they get the 1st pick!

I think Crabtree/Bradford/etc... will/should decide to stay in school if the Lions have the first pick.
  21. #21
lol would the Lions draft Crabtree if he was available, 4th top pick in however many years to a WR? that'd be funny.

  22. #22
well they're under new management, so, yea, they probably still would.

Yeah it's not even close. Other than the AFC East winner, I think every AFC playoff team would be favored by at least a TD over the Broncos on a neutral field.

I sure hope we play the Broncos in the first round, it'd bring back memories of those two years in a row when we blew them out of the playoffs by like 5 TDs.

    Denvers Notable Wins.

    Jets
    Atlanta
    Saints

    Denvers Notable losses
    Jacksonville
    Oakland
    KC

Here's the problem Aside from New-England, they are beating good teams, and losing to terrible teams. They seem to "play" down to the competition around them, or "rise up" to compete with the upper echelon of teams.

You guys really ought to go back and take a look at the last 5 games. Aside from being embarassed by Oakland, Denver has played some tough, hard-nosed Defense, and in the playoffs they are going to have Champ Bailey, and DJ Williams back and fresh.

How many of you nay-sayers are watching the Denver Game each weekend? Denver is dangerous, with huge play ability, and while they have a tough time against grinders, they can put up points quickly and take away a clock grinding mentality from their opponents. I don't think Denver goes to the super-bowl this year, but they've got a serious chance to go deep, and are as dark a darkhorse as you can have.

I wasn't trying to say Denver is a bad team, just that the other 5 are going to be better.

Consider that they play in one of the two weakest conferences in football, and have had a LOT of breaks go their way en-route to their 8-5 record (SD, NO, CLE, etc). I have watched several of denver's games this year.. can't say I've watched them all.

Like I said before.. they are an OK team, but I just don't see them being as good as Indy, Baltimore, NYJ, or the Pats (and those are just the possible wild-card teams that they'd be playing in the first round; after that is where the fun begins).

Prop bet at 1-1 that Denver doesn't play more than 1 playoff game?

I want them to win a game. I know a lot of Lions "fans" who want to see them go 0-16 but I really don't want to be remembered as the only team to go 0-16. I doubt that Buccaneers fans enjoy hearing all the references to their 0-14 season.

Also, haha WR jokes, never heard any of those before....

With that being said, we don't have a winnable game left. Colts, Saints, at GB. So yeah, 0-16 here we come.

It should make you feel better knowing you at least got a 1 and 3 back for Roy, and CJ looks like a phenominal player.

I was under the impression that a "dark horse" is a contender that no-body seems to know anything about that isn't a favorite.

Also you see that they are starting 9 rookies across offense, defense and special teams and ask me "how in the world are they winning? They seem so inconsistent"

I ask you. How are they amassing 393 YPG, averaging 24 PPG, and have 3 rookies that could have serious arguments made about them for ROY if you exclude Matt Ryan. Clady has allowed .5 sacks all season. Everyone knows about Eddie Royal, and Peyton Hillis has brought new life to this team.

The 1998 and 1999 Denver Broncos put up the same kind of points per game, and here's the trick, they also had one of the worst defenses in the league when it came to YPG. They just capitalized on turnovers, that's it, and made their opponents one dimensional with a solid 4.0 yard per touch running game, and a QB with a gunslinger mentality.

A dark horse is an underdog that some people expect to put up a challenge against the favorite. Calling them the darkest of dark horses would mean that they're the biggest underdog in the playoffs but you think they have a shot anyway.

Makes Sense. Mcat. It's hard not to be fair and balanced about my Broncos, because I do enjoy them as a team.

I always take pride in being able to admidt if a team is bad, or good, and not get tilted too happily or too angrily depending on how my team is doing. Giving fair and even analysis how how they are performing.

But winning 5 of the last 6 and seeing the kind of things I'm seeing, it's really tough not to be too excited.

I read a browns message board sometimes and you should see all the crap they spew about that team.. they talk like it's the most talented team in the world despite being 4-9 and staring directly in the face of a 4-12 team. Like everybody thinks we're among the most talented teams in the league and it's all on RAC (I happen to agree that our coach sucks, quite frankly), but the bottom line is that we also have inferior talent compared to the teams that are going to make the playoffs.

I can't even imagine what they'd be saying if we had 8 wins instead of 4 (not trying to compare the broncos and browns, just making a point that's all).

Yeah.. Shanahan is pretty confident that either the broncos will win one of the next three, or the chargers will tank one of three and they'll waltz into the playoffs.

Remember that IR gets a post-season re-evaluation for every player.

So he's only out for the "regular" season.

Hmmmm. I'm under the impression that a player put on IR is ineligible to play for the rest of the regular season and post-season so long as they still remain on that team. I can't seem to find anything conclusive to back that up though.

    you called?

i know my team sucks but i still believe they are capable of being good. i happen to think randle el sucks and moss would make a good #2. and on defense we are pretty good but need a good pass rusher. jason taylor hasnt worked out all that well.

i must say that OUR FUCKING KICKER AND PUNTER ARE AWFUL. seriously how big a fail is it that we replaced the leagues worst punter and actually managed to find someone worse?

Lost in the hilarity known more commonly as the Cleveland Browns, is that we've had excellent special teams play for a long time. Dawson has always been rock solid, we had Gardocki for a long time and now Zastudil. The units always seemed to be coached well also, and of course, now we have this Cribbs guy who in my eyes is the best special teamer in the league due to what he can do both as a return man and a gunner.
