Preflop is pretty bad, imo. As played you're never getting away from that flop.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

I don't disagree with this but I'd sat at on my hands for some time and I prefer to get desperate as a result of a positive action on my part rather than the blinds getting out of hand.

I love me some T9s but I kinda like open shoving over raising tho.

I'd just fold this pre-flop. I'd fold it pretty quicky too.

I don't understand this, why do you want to make yourself short stacked when you don't need to? Patience is a really important part of the game.

Other than that I agree with baudib, you are never getting away from this flop with probably 11 good outs.

I can see a blind steal here and agreed you are not getting away from this hand

does the entire sng forum just blindly 3x PF all the time?

I understand there is no getting away from the hand after the flop, but can you explain why this may be an opportunity for a blind steal? From UTG, this type of raise almost always gets a call from another player, at least at the levels I play at. There aren't too many flops you are going to be happy with, so why raise? Or did you mean a different sized raise, or a push, as some of the others have mentioned?

No, tho it's my default raise. Many others (tai included) prefer 4x

Accepted but are we never mixing it up? Or just not here?

rly doubt he prefers 4x when you have less than 20bbs

2.5bb at the most is fine here, although I agree, folding PF is probably best.

4xBB you're pot-committed so you might as well shove.

    Folding >>> shoving > raising
Playing big pots at small stakes.

Yes, I only 4x it when the blinds are 10/20 and 15/30 (at Stars). At 25/50 I make it 3x and anything above that 2.5x (except for 100/200 ante 25 where I go back to 3x if the table is still reasonably full).

The spot for mixing it up is when it's folded to you on the button and the blinds are tight, not when you're UTG with 20x BB and a hand that plays very well in a multiway pot when you can see the flop cheap but poorly if you raise and get called.

Why mix it up early in SNGs? It's not like we're 20 tabling the 109s and don't want people getting reads on us. We are trying to maximise an edge against opponents with 2 particular weaknesses. 1 they play too many hands and call light. 2. they play too tight around the bubble.

Raising light doesn't seem like the best way to do this
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.
