you can make a good argument for top 50%.

I am interested to hear Mcat's range.

I am calling any A, any K, Q9+, any pair.

Something like any pair, any A, K5s, K9o, QT+, Q9s, J9s+. I'm happy to go for the double up or bust here, because once you have a stack that can afford to raise-fold, stealing the blinds is like taking candy from a baby.

chardrian your range is pretty solid but you can't call with K2o and then fold JTs, I don't have Stove on this computer but I'm certain JTs is a way better calling hand.

    vs. top 25% of hands

JTs = 41% (This is about the equity we need to call, right?)
    K2o = 35.5%

    Hey,

I would say QQ+, AQs+, AK; I know it is very tight, but do you want to risk a bust on more marginal hands is what you should ask yourself. And that varies a lot for different people I think.

K now I felt like I slowrolled with 33, but I had to load up pokerstove and run my equity.

I'm quite shocked by your calling ranges mcatdog... but alas...you win tournaments and I do not. This is likely why I get a stack<10m and then double up only to find that the blinds went up and I'm at it again.

I would like to add that it depends on whether or not the other player understands M and how he has been pushing. Sometimes this information isn't available if you are multitabling. But I find that when antes are in play alot of players are still going by the 10xbb rule for shoving and they are in fact shoving a very tight range. If opponent is shoving a tight range with his stack that is well over 10xbb do you really want to call with Q9o?? If you had this type of read on a player what type of range are you calling with? I'm thinking AJs+ AQo+ 77+

is it practical to have pokerstove setup with the villains range already typed in as you are playing live, and input the cards as they drop?

cos i have a villian to my right who raises preflop 100% 4BB as a standard. live now.

$10 $10k gtd on Stars. Villain seems solid, like 14/13 over 50 hands. He lost like 2/3 of his stack two orbits ago re-stealing with K5s from the BB vs a BTN 4x raise.

215 Left, 198 paid, average stack is like 12k

    Hero's M: 5.96

Preflop: Hero is BB with something like a phenomenom

6 folds, SB raises to t7388 (All-In), Hero calls t6638

    Flop: (t15496) 8, 3, K (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Turn: (t15496) 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t15496) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Total pot: t15496

Thoughts on SB should be shoving is helpful too.

I guess it depends a lot on what his image of you is. I suppose he's in a mood to gamble anyway, but if he thinks you're tight, conservative I'd call really wide. Actually, I think the added benefit of getting rid of a solid, positionally aware player on your right is not insignificant, so I'm gambling, too.

Villain is aware, he just outran my KK with KTo bvb last orbit shoving 25k with 2k/4k blinds I think. 8 men left in $12 180man SNG:

6 folds, SB raises to t21571 (All-In), Hero????

bump, come on peeeeps Mcat is in the Bahamas

you should be more confident that villain is shoving wide in the first one bc of your read on that resteal. with 22+ A2+ K9+ i think you would have a big enough edge (0.5+) to call despite being near the bubble (this is if villain is shoving 50%, which might be conservative)

plugging in the second one into sngwiz its saying to call with top 28% if villain is shoving 40%, which again could be way off
  17. #17
this ain't the bubble it's ITM.

Can't remember what the step up in equity is like here if you call and win. He should be shoving 100% with M so low. So, and it's very dependent on the payout structure which I can't remember but my guess is 40%, maybe 30.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.
