true, but you would have to be ignorant to not agree that ESPN and ABC are biased toward certain teams... Like Ohio State, USC, OklaOriginally Posted by bigspenda73

They're not here to be right, they're here to have people watch them.

I think it just shows how pathetic the BCS system is when Penn State could have easily been in the National Championship game if they were not so retarded and lost to Michigan State.

Then don't watch. They'll change if people lose interest.

So I'm watching this Cincinnati vs. Virginia Tech game, and I can't help but think, who cares? This isn't even a knock on the perceived quality of teams playing in a major bowl game. Think about the winner though.. what do they get? A big ol' pat on the back?

I'm not saying that's a bad idea as it's fine in theory, but it would never ever happen.

Plus-1 game is the best idea, still obv. has holes, but seems like a decent way to kill some controversy.

Why do a playoff with the top 8 teams if the system tells us who the top 2 teams are already? Why do we need one?

Let's just have a 119 team playoff next year.

Generally the people who advocate an 8 team playoff are people that believe the current system is inadequate in deciding the best 2 teams in the country.

Sigh..that's not the case at all. Any ranking system is flawed when it comes to determining who is really #1. Why do we even play the season? We have pre-season ranking in place every year. And every ranking system is obsolete after one week. They are subjective. They favor earlier season losses to late season losses. They factor in 'quality wins' whatever the hell that means. What they DO show is which teams are likely stronger than others, so I think it's reasonable to expect that the 'best' team in the country would be ranked somewhere within the top 8. Let these teams line up for a 3 week playoff, winner takes all.
