Live Play - UTG and low stack on the bubble: All-in or not?
Tournament: 35$ buy-in, 48 entrants (top 6 paid)
Situation: I was doing fairly well when a super agressive (unknown) women joined my table (just before the final table merge). She stole 10 pots in a row and I finally decided to put her all-in with QQ. A couple of hands later, 4 players bust at the same time. We're down to the final table (7 players) and I have the luck of being UTG.
Table (Total: t480,000 / Average: t68,571):
SB has t45,000
BB has t102,000
UTG (hero) has t18,000
UTG+1 has t70,000
MP has t109,000
CO has t91,000
Button has t42,000
Blind are t3,000-t6,000 and I'm dealt T-9s.
My thinking at that time:
- Since I have no hope of seeing SB and Button being blinded out. I have to make a move either now or next hand if I want to make the money and take a shot at the top 3.
- I have no fold equity over BB, MP and CO. BB will call no matter what.
- If I manage to be up against BB only, I have some chance of doubling up.
- I could triple or quad up if the pot is multi-way and I hit the jackpot.
My conclusion: My Mzone is 3 and I might not find a better spot. I push.
What really happened: UTG+1 raised all-in and MP called. JJ vs KK vs my T-9s. The kings won, of course.
Was my push correct in that situation?
