    Default An AK question

It's been too long but I'm getting time to play poker again, just looking for a bit of a line check here. Villain has just moved to the table so no read.

Is my 4-bet a bit pointless, call and evaluate the flop better ?
Would anyone just 4-bet allin here preflop when 60BBs deep ?

I flat the 3bet and see a flop, especially since you'll be in position. If he had one of the smaller stacks I would 4-bet him all-in.

I def think shoving or flatting are better than the small three bet, you're setting up the pot size for him to stop and go you. I would probably just shove. You'd rather he fold a random hand if he's just squeezing. Also if he has AK also or AQ/AJ he's going to win the pot when you both miss. Finally, we'd like to get BU out.

I agree w/dr. Think ahead and take a line that will make the hand easiest for you to play and most awkward for your opp.

What do people think about calling and shoving over a c-bet on almost any flop? I don't know if that's better than shoving but I like both plans better than the small 4-bet.

hmmm, it's kinda interesting for sure. what flops do we give up on? Also do we just play straight up if BU calls

This is a line I will often take, especially against an opp who I know is a constant c-bettor. It is higher variance, but it also picks you up extra chips than shoving pre does.

I think our options pre are to flat, shove, or raise to like 5k so we know that we can't fold no matter what postflop.

It depends on how deep we are into the tourney and what our stack size is compared to the chip leaders.

I probably shove this like 70% of the time; flatting is ok, too, though, but we have to get it in on an A/K/two flush flop and I'd rather the button not be there.

mcat's idea is interesting because I think we're good here more often than we'd normally suspect.

I like the push, it puts maximum pressure on him. If you miss the flop your floating in nowhere land with an Ace high. He most likely doesn't have A-A or K-K because of your hand, so he has to decide if he wants to flip with his Q's or J's or might be dominated. Plus he could be making a play with A-Q. I almost always reraise with A-Q to define the hand. If you shove he'll fold it mostly or call and be dominated.
