Default $2 sng' min raise better then 3x 5xBB raises?

Just wondering what ppl think about this... I play a hell of a lot of $2 games atm and i dont know if its the way i play but i personally prefer a min raise to 3x raises. if i am stealing i will pot but i mix it up a lot using my seconds on my clock for exact %'s.

    Anyway....

Only rarely are these idiots folding to any raise so why commit the extra bb into our raises? i like to make winning folds when i am behind so this may explain a little more regarding my reasoning, I know at this level i can go down to 2~3bb at say 50/100 mid level and still have confidence to go on and win.

at this level 3x just doez not get recogintion it deserves, some of you will say well go up to 4x or 5x however I would then need to adjust what i raise and when, completely changing my style something that i think is working for me.

Obv if i move up in future then raises will be respected and isolate/reduce weak holdings so i am not saying min raise in every sng but on $2 tables aginst weak players is there an arguement for this?

appreciate any thoughts on this from both perspectives

i also play $2 sngoes mostly... I typically start out with 3x raises, and then move to 2.5x when it gets to 80/160 (although sometimes at 50/100) if I have built a stack that's not in auto shove/fold mode. I play uber tight in the beginning when the blinds are low anyway, so I'm happy to raise 3x and get some callers with the hands I am raising with. I don't care for their respect.

you should of course maintain one standard raise once you are raising to steal the blinds unless stack sizes invite something different (say a 4x sets up a pot size flop shove).

Before that, ask yourself why you are raising and raise an amount that accomplishes your goal. Normally I would guess in a $2 SNG this will mean raising a lot with big hands in the first two-three levels, and not bothering to raise scs, low pps etc. But if min raising is making people make bad plays against you why change it up?

its does work for me very well. maybe i'll do an operation or something and post results. not sure yet. i think it also disguises my strenth from grinders quite well. i play a weak tight nit at work strategy which gets me respect when i am showing cards down and calling light but ahead.
Nit at work; "I'll only grind what the grinders wont grind"
