Was this a donkey move or well played? I figured I was pretty short, and with the bets before, I was getting pretty good odds. Only if I were dominated would I actually be getting really bad odds. Clearly would have been better with connectors too...

Hehe at first I thought this was clever, but I'm also thinking it was pretty risky. Good/bad?

It was kind of risky. However you had a good chance of having 2 live cards....and you definitely had pot odds. So being shortstacked it was an "ok" move. I do think however that without any antes, you might have been able to wait a few more hands to see if anything better came up before you got hit by the big blind. Just my opinion. Good luck on and off the felts.
