Default Can you put your opponent on a flopped set?

I keep getting beat by great flopped hands ( i.e. straight, set). This wouldnt be so bad if I wasnt sitting with Queens up or turn comes and gives me 3 of a kind and Im tricked into thinking I have the best hand. My question is, "even with putting your opponent on a accurate range, is it likely that you'll get out of these situations? When can you say, "well, it was a cooler, I did what I could"

Most of the time if you play low stakes. Unless you are very deepstacked it is hard to see enough action to be able to conclude an opp has a set or better on the flop/turn. Since most mtt's are so shallow stacked you just have to go with your big hands and sometimes they will get cracked, but mostly they will help you chip up.

I think the only time you can ever be in a position to be really worried about trying to read sets is when you have really deep stacks, and you are seeing action on multiple streets, or you have a really strong read. I think it can be a mistake if you have M > 30, 40, 50, or are top 5 stack and you bust out to another top 5 stack in the middle of a tourney with TPTK against a set. M < 20 it is going to be hard, M < 15 it will be impossible.

Im just beginning to learn about push bot charts and M. Dont know if I really understand. Does it relate to opponents hand range?
