Default Clash of the Big Stacks [6,50]

Villain got his stack by openshove-cbetting bvb AQ on a 9 5 7 and got called by some bb with AJ during 50-100 blind level. Afterwards, he just stole one pot.
Prior to that I have not noticed him at the table.
So, my reads would be he is verrry tight, but may overplay broadways.

    Agree y/n?

I'd raise him, either preflop or on the flop. I don't let him see a turn card without all the chips in the middle. If he flips AA, KK, QQ, so bet it.

The way I play that lessens the potential or a huge pot, but I absolutely hate making the decision to pull the trigger later.

Personally I just shove over preflop and be done with it, if he has QQ+ then so be it.

As played, I agree with Kijjo, shove over on the flop, I think it's really bad play to call the raise on such a drawy board then wonder what to do when opp fires again on the turn and a semi-scare card comes.

Well I don't think he wonders what to do on the turn. You can't fold and flatting is now bad.

Shoving pf is probably the play but I really don't hate flatting and getting it in on unders flop.

I don't see the preflop call as a bad play. If the flop shows 2 overs and he bets into you, you prob want out.

As you have position, it makes sense to call, see the flop, and if you like it, and I'd like that flop heads up with a preflop raiser, then when he raises on the flop thats when i'd shove.

With the half pot raise on the flop, that is the perfect time to shove. If he has an overpair, so be it, if he is drawing, all the better.

By shoveing on the flop, you either get an all in battle, which is fine with jj here, or you get to take his extra bet.

If you didn't have position on him, then maybe preflop would be a better time to shove.

Yeah, I guess calling the preflop raise may be the better play since it's only 10% of our stack to see a flop. That said, I also agree that if you're going to call preflop then it's a sin not to get your chips in on an undercard flop.

Agreed, otherwise, what are you waiting for? Only moving on trips???

Well I don't think he's folding. Perhaps trying to extract. The problem with flatting the flop is the flush draw and overcards.

    1. If the FD comes in it may shut the aggressor down, meaning you lose value. If he has a diamond overcard he gets extra outs to beat you.

    2. You will hate overcards even if he bets same on the turn.

Raising the flop is then both for value and protection.
